Picked up an R6551 SN ST031XXX at Tanners today, came with an extra assembled upper and an Aimpoint as well as a spare 4pos stock (A2 stock was in a bag of parts that came with the rifle). The extra upper is a Colt stamped forging, flat top, F marked FSB, has the detachable handle with it. I believe it to be a 6721 upper due to the fact that it has a C / MP 1/9 HBAR on it but don't know of a definitive way to be sure............any suggestions?
In addition, I have an R6550 SN GS006XXX that doesn't show on the Biggerhammer SN listing that most people use........I'd like to verify Preban status on the rifle. Thanks, Ray |

Thanks Bill, thought it probably was. I had an extra Stag lower done up, VLTOR stock, ergo grip etc.........the 6721 upper went on it as soon as I got it home.
I also picked up a Charles Daly lower complete, got the 6551, the 6721 upper, and an Aim Point for $1500.....I definitely have no complaints. |

Can you post pics of the uppers with the HGs removed? We can verify the exact model once we see it. Also, there will be a date code on the barrel just in front of the delta ring. You can verify the build date by calling Colt with the serial number as well. They'll be able to tell you chapter and verse, usually while you wait. Well done brother

I can't post pictures as I never renewed my Team Member status. The 20in upper is turned down under the hand guards, the 16in (which I am pretty sure is a 6721) is heavy all the way through.. I'll try giving Colt a call tomorrow to get the build date on the rifle itself. Thanks, Ray |

I absolutely love my 6551. The only mod is a fully shrouded carrier and a proper front pushpin, spring and detent setup. Say, does your front reciever hole have the hole pre drilled for the spring and detent???? Mine was, I am just curious how many other 6551s are spring and detent ready. |
