A friend gave me a 30rnd mag for my new rifle and I thought I'd give it a try this afternoon. It works fine if you're into single shot rifles. Every second or third round would fail to feed and drive the bullet nose into the bottom of the breech face. I finally resorted to firing my remaining ammo one round at a time. I've had zero problems with the 20rnd mags I've got. Unfortunately I didn't take any of them to the range today. So what do you think ? Is this a problem with the mag or should I be looking at something else ? |
| What make is it?? There are some 30 rounders that continually give problems,i.e., Cooper and some say Sanchez. If it's USGI, it might be the follower. Many have replaced the black (original) follower with new Green ones. If it's aftermarker, good luck. There are too many bad ones to mention. |

The mag is most likely the culprit, odds are it's a blued, steel body aftermarket mag. My recommendation is to use USGI 20 or 30rd. AR mags or find Thermold AR mags.
