I've spent thousands of dollars at SWFA and have NEVER had a problem.

LaRue is excellent, but SWFA is excellent too.  Their inventory is massive and sometimes they don't have a part in stock, however they have always notified me immediately and have never charged my card.

SWFA also has inventory that you just can't find anywhere else.  My money will still go to SWFA, as will it also go to LaRue.

Huh.  My one experience with them thus far was excellent.  This is the first negative thing I've ever heard about them.

FWIW: I too have spent 1000's of dollars at SWFA going back a few years. They have an impressive inventory.

1, if you want to get screwed around with about product availability:, have your order screwed up: parts of the order were in stock, one part was not, no delivery date on third part but they held up entire order anyway. I had to call them and find this out. 2. have your shipping screwed up,: Did not use the shipping option I choose resulting in the shipment being returned, 3. and be treated like shit by their customer service,: customer service interaction by e-mail was not helpful - incomplete information, phone conversations were worse - cranky unhelpful and downright rude today - thus prompting this post and my oath to never buy from them today. Buyers always have a choice - feel free to continue to patronize SWFA...I choose not to

We'd like to know more about it ourselves as this is not the way we operate.  Posting vague comments without enough detail for us to present our side is not very fair and has been the M.O. of one of our competitors in the past.

What is your order number or last name and zip code.  I would like to pull your order and see if there are any notes in regards to what transpired.

That is the bad thing about the Internet anyone can be anyone they want and claim anything they want without having to prove anything.  Fortunately we have a good reputation so post like this have little merit.  I think people get tired of the immature nature of these type of posts.  Constantly attempting to hold retailers hostage by threatening to run to the Internet and tell everyone they can if something does not go exactly like you think it should.

I know your type and fortunately for us, so do the majority of the people reading this.

I can't knock my self out until you provide some FACTS, right now everything you type is just speculation.  What is your name, address, order number?  Who did you talk to here?  What did they say that was rude?  etc. etc.

SWFA is GOOD PEOPLE.  The OP is full of  non-facts and vague, and has even posted gere multiple times and still not provided ANY intel that would cause me to vary my thinking from past experiences with SWFA - they are always great to deal with!

If SWFA chooses, he can IM or e-mail me - the ad hominem attacks won't work...

10/9/2008 7:07:56 AM EDT
[#22]
An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the man", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim. The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject.

It is most commonly used to refer specifically to the ad hominem as abusive, sexist, racist, or argumentum ad personam, which consists of criticizing or attacking the person who proposed the argument (personal attack) in an attempt to discredit the argument. It is also used when an opponent is unable to find fault with an argument, yet for various reasons, the opponent disagrees with it.

You suggested something about us and without having any facts to dispute it, I can only speculate as to your motivation and that is what I did.  You wanted it to be public and I don't feel that we have anything to hide so I would prefer to keep it public myself.  Taking it to IM would defeat your purpose of discrediting us and would not allow me to defend our reputation.

And as far as the late second poster mimicking you, we can all read between those lines.

We run a very honest, respectable business and if we do something wrong, I want to learn from it and correct it.  I do not want to run from it or sweep it under the rug.

What is your name, order number, zip code?

first off, posting personal information on a public internet forum... I am not doing that...

secondly, not my intention to discredit your business - read the part about the many thousand of dollars of business you have received from me... swarovski, nightforce, leupold, aimpoint, tasco, the list goes on... I have never complained about the quality or price of what you sell.  I have not advised anyone NOT to shop at SWFA. Venting on a public forum to get your attention - guilty.  Pointing out that this is not the first complaint I have seen maybe indicative of a problem at your shop Maybe you should talk to your folks in customer service - i am not looking to get my ass kissed - just accurate information and correct shipment and when I contact you, get asked the right questions to correct a situation rather than get told the order is already cancelled (even though it was still somewhere in the UPS loop) and that I would not get refunded until you returned it to stock. I kept my cool and told the lady that I would not do business with SWFA again. A response like your last post asking for information to correct the problem and being told that it will be investigated would have resulted in a different outcome. Thats the jist of it, now go ahead, call me a liar.

thirdly, my user name here is the same name on my e-mail account, if you keep that in your database, you can see the order for yourself.

Heron163,

We can cancel an order mid-stream and have UPS divert the package back here, but UPS is not real good at it.  I can see customer service not refunding any monies until the product is back in our hands, I don't think that is unreasonable.

I tried but could not pull you up by a partial email (our software sucks).

Anyway, sorry for whatever did happen to you.  I have already called a meeting with all of our customer service and stressed to them the importance of customer service and communication.  They try very hard but I guess as long as we continue to hire humans we'll have to deal with stuff like this.

I can't go back and fix what is done and I know you are already lost but if you ever decide to give us another shot, let me know and I will make it up to you.

Peace,

Hey guys -
I made my first purchase from SWFA and am having problems with their customer service.

I won't make my issues public until I have exhausted my options in order to be fair to their company.

thanks

I too am having a problem with them regarding an eBay bid on a Millett DMS-1 scope.  The item description did state that it would be a back order but never led me to believe it would take 5 weeks (and counting) to get the scope.  The eBay cost is $30 more than quoted on their web site but does include "free" shipping. Their email responses to my inquiries have been terse to say the least.

I am still hoping to get the scope but am now looking for alternative suppliers or scopes.  The jury is still out on this specfic issue but it doesn't look promising at this point in time.

I have purchased on at least 3 occasions from SWFA.  My results?

Good CS reps, fast shipping, and correct orders.  Never an issue.

I do wish you would have your website show if an item is in stock though, that would be nice.

Other than that, nothing really to complain about.

The Millet DMS's scopes came in yesterday. All backorders should be filled.

There is very little profit margin on the DMS scopes. With Ebay charging a ridiculous amount to sell on their site and the PayPal fees we are forced to raise the price. If we put it on there at 199.95 we would lose money.

Millet gave us no word on when they would deliver the scopes so if someone was short with a response it was just due to lack of information.

Let's don't wait Johan.  I'll make an entire new thread about your deal.  I would love to share with everyone what has been going on with you.
