I picked up a Larue low profile gas block in trade and it has three set screw holes. All the ones I have seen and owned previousley only had two. Is this a new style?

Thanks

If you compare it to a similiar lpgb (VTLOR for example), you'll note that the LaRue has a collar or extended piece.  This is to cover the often un-park'd portion of a barrel where a standard front sight post once was.  With the extended collar comes an extra set screw.

I get the extended portion but even my other Larue gas blocks with the extended portion only had two set screws. Plus none of the set screws are on on the extended portion.

Well in that case, three is two

I have a few of the older non updated 2 set screw models. I have noticed that on the TOBR's and OBR's they have 3 set screws on the PST. LT must have just decided to poke one more hole in it for added measure

Its not a bad thing for sure.
