Just bought a new 6920 and the safety selector switch feels "squishy" unlike my other AR's.  My issued M4 doesn't have this issue, when going from "safe" to "fire" it's crisp with an audible click.  I have switched out the A2 grip with a Magpul grip, I checked to make sure it was tightnened today and reused the factory grip screw as well.  Anyone experienced this?  I haven't test fired it, but have function tested it and it worked.

If you take the magpul grip off, is the spring and detent still in place for your safety?  Was it like this with the A2 grip?

Spring and detent were in place and installed correctly today when I checked.  That was the first thing I thought of, I made sure after I took off the grip that the selector was in the fire position before I re-installed the grip and hardware.

Normal for colt semi auto selectors, colt f/a selectors have a nice positive click. All my semi auto selectors colt, spikes are as described. I thought the same thing with my colts semi auto selectors.

The last 6920 I got had a lot of grease on the detent and spring.  Remove the grip, spring and detent, then remove the safety clean off excess grease, reassemble, test safety.  This should help.

Sounds  normal.   Just make sure the screw for the grip isn't too long.   If I  remember,  the Magpul  screw is  shorter because it sits  higher inside the grip.

On every Magpul grip I've installed, the instructions say "do not use the original grip screw" but use the Magpul supplied screw with no washer.

The newer (elongated) Colt selectors seem to have more rounded or less defined contact surfaces. They are definitely squishier and easier to move than other standard selectors...but it's normal for them.
