No flame intended, just my pure ignorance.

Surfing on the J&T Website, I noticed that most of their stuff is made by FN.I was always told that FN components are of the cheapest and lowest quality available in the AR market today,(hence the Armed Forces use their stuff) but they(FN) seem to have a  following of happy and loyal owners on this board, now this is a contradiction, can some one please shine some light on, (or show me the way), can you comment on the FN quality compared to the "others" (Bushmaster and my only AR made by RRA), I am in the market for an M4gery upper, and J&T prices and reputation seems to be just fine.

Again, I am not flaming, I just don't know enough.

True FN contract parts are what most companies use for building their rifles (BM, Armalite, etc.).  Many of these contractors produce or have produced parts for Colt as well, but unless it's marked with a "C" then you had better not even think of calling it Colt contract unless you can go to one of the new Colt rifles and show examples of similar markings. (speaking from experience)

Where FN usually gets a bad name (along with Wilson barrels) is that many dealers whose entire sales pitch is that they are the cheapest, can not or will not divulge the company/country of origin of their parts, the standard generic answer is FN.  Sometimes this statement turns out to be true, but very often it is far from the truth, unless they're meaning FN to stand for something other than Fabrique Nationale.

I feel like I've ran off on a tangent, so I'll try to wrap it up quickly.  True FN contract components will perform with components of comparable grades (i.e. comparing apples to apples, not service grade to target grade).
