I received my Evolution 3.0 NiB BCG yesterday and gave it a test fit.  I gently cycled it by hand as I have no barrel yet.  I noticed that the BCG does not pop the dust cover.  I tried it several times with the same result.  It bumps it, but not to the point it will pop past the detent.  The upper is a BCM with their upper parts group as well.  Anyone else have this issue?  Thanks!

I didn't.

I didn't have much time last night, but I'll have to try it in another upper to see if it does the same thing.  Might just be tolerance stacking.

Must be a tolerance stacking issue.  It works fine in my Aero upper.  Might have to look for an adjustable tension dust cover.

Thanks, Bryan.  Curious to see if it can be replicated...

FYI, for reference.  Here's the operation in the BCM upper with my AIM v2 Black Nitride BCG vs the AIM Evolution 3.0 NiB BCG.

Any chance you were able to duplicate this?

Thank you.   I'm holding off on buying a Strike Ind. dust cover until I hear more.   I could swap it for my AIM nitride BCG, but I would really prefer the nitride finish on the Evolution BCG if I did that.

Just bumping this back up as it looks like the Evolution BCGs are back in stock.  If I have to swap with another standard cut BCG in my inventory, I'd really rather have mine swapped for a Nitride finish 3.0 instead.

I figured as much.  Just hoping you could test before they're all sold out again.

My Nitrided EVO 3 BCG does the exact same thing as in the video. I received it last week. Any updates on the issue?
I have about 200 rounds on it with no other issues so far, only the port door thing.

Mike_P says he sees the same thing in this other thread:

Just out of curiosity, does the door still open when the rifle is fired? I would think the ejection force and gas pressure would be more than enough to push it open. I'm just not sure if that could cause jamming issues. I wouldn't think so.

I'm looking for parts for a new carbine build and have the 3.0 at the top of my list for BCGs. I'd be interested in hearing more about this issue.

Works fine on my Palmetto upper.

Sorry about missing the posts here.  I was able to duplicate this issue on a CMT billet upper as well as a Spikes upper.  These two were not as sever as the BCM upper, and would not do it every time.  In the end AIM accepted it as a return.  I'm awaiting my replacement.

I have had 3 Evo 3.0 BCGs come back for this issue.  All 3 of the BCGs that came back were tested perfectly in multiple ARs here (spikes, BCM, CMT, Mega, Anderson, & Rainier).  All of the 3 that were returned said they did not open the ejection door on their BCM rifles.  I have since tested those BCGs with multiple BCM rifles here and they did open them for us.  We believe these few cases have had more to do with the size of the ejection door bumper.

If anyone has any issue with their BCG not opening their ejection door, email us and we will either exchange it for a BCG that does or get you a refund.

No worries, I will keep it.
I don't see the issue when I operate at full speed, only when I slow down like the video posted.

Hey Fungus,

I might be interested in taking a chance on one or two of these returned/tested good BCGs at the right price.  What do you think?

I'm keeping mine too. It functions fine outside of the door issue, so I'm not worried about it.

The upper I'm using is a Larue Stealth upper, so I know it's a quality part. Probably just tolerance stacking or something stupid.
