Yep, just got the email. Simply awesome.
Another great product by LaRue. |

Too true, car repairs and office equipment in the last week equal a nice upper. I'd rather have the upper. ![]() |

Here we go again.
I don't have any money for this, but I am glad I know it is available. |
|

I fell into an upper trade about six months ago that landed me an upper assembly that looks very similar to something that LT makes...and it shoots like the dickens ... but I'd still trade it for the LT model. Now, if I can find a sucker to make that trade. Soooo, while more and more of my gear is being replaced with LT items, those dandy uppers are a bit out of my league. VJ |

|
It's a nice looking upper but at 1300, I don't know how many of us who carry these on duty every day will be able to afford them...Add this to the list of things to save for...LaRue's gotta have the biggest damn shop vac out there based on all of the cash they manage to make me want to pour out.

And many of these items, in my opinion, should be sitting on what I'd call "working" rifles ... that will live up to their potential use or abuse... not keeping Sally Spider company in the safe. Not knocking on anyone, or trying to take money out of LaRue's pockets, just an observation. |
|
|
i'd rather see a duty upper chromelined and with M4 feedramps
this is basically a 16" stealth with ion bond and a normal FSB for more $$$? don't get it. i'll keep saving up for my 18" stealth and an LT lower... ![]() |
|
I would love to have one, But i have 2 kids , wife and my Dad to look after. Things are tight right now , Mom past away in March Dad moved in was us so money is tight now. But maybe i can swing it the first of the year..
I think it looks great , LaRue has hit a home room again they will sell them like hot cakes. |

I found spiderwebs in one of my old post ban ARs recently

Exactly, I still want one and will probably. But I was really hoping for something chromelined. Instead I'll be getting 14.5" that is chromelined from some other company for my non "duty" heavy duty carbine. ![]() ![]() |

I hear ya...I run LaRue items on my rifle that get used everyday so no friends of Sally Spider in my house. I guess on a tech note, this is the Designated Marksman Rifle upper, hence the DMR...not quite the duty upper. That said...heres my idea for a duty upper: Stealth Upper+Carbine Lenght Free Float+Colt/LMT 14.5" Chrome Lined Barrel w/pinned flash hider & F-marked A2 FSB+LaRue Milspec BCG+gas tube+charging handle=$900 for the upper + LaRue lower+LMT/RRA LPK+UDE Rail Covers & a MOE+UDE CTR+Buffer/Spring & Buffer tube=$500 for lower = 1400 for a complete rifle that would be more than ready for full duty. You'd give Colt one hell of a fight for the market on higher price complete guns that are ready for combat and it'd be nice to see someone knock the Colt worshipers off of their rocker. I know Mark likes to keep his stuff as in house as possible but the guys at Armalite turn out a lot of good barrels[Camp Perry & all], including stainless steel, and they could probably provide the barrels at a low enough price to get the them Ion Bonded and still keep total pretty darn close to the above pricing. Just a thought. Wes PS: It'd be nice to see a beefed up upper reciever offered outside of the stealth. The LT lower has a lot of extra meat, how about matching the upper to it. Right now the only thing that comes close is offered by Vltor and we all know the story about that based on what Mark's turned up in the "other" thread. |

Tell her when you can call in air support and you have your own supply chain established you'll turn in the "ninja" backpacks. ![]() ![]() Wes |

I went to check my e-mail to make sure my LT delivery for the day had made it on the UPS truck and lo and behold...
My gun budget for the rest of '08 and part of '09 has been shot but I've got some LT goodies pouring in to hold me over. ![]() yak |
|
The only difference I see between this and a Stealth upper is... the gas block. Am I correct?
|

Ion bond on the barrel. Wes |

And that is worth the extra hundred dollars. |

Nice, but it will have to wait. After dropping about $3K on my LaRue AR, the money is now tight. ML, hold onto to one for me. I will get it eventually.

What does "ION BOND" do to the barrel. Is it for corrosion or accuracy?

Its on the outside, and makes it look black. ![]() |

Food for thought:
Stealth Upper @ $1195 + Troy Front & Rear BUIS @ $249.95 = $1,444.95. DMR Upper @ $1295 + Troy Rear BUIS @ $140 = $1,435. By the time you get around to shooting them, they cost about the same. It's not designed to be a "duty" upper, though it would certainly fill that role quite well. Looks to me like they designed a precision rifle that one would feel a little more comfortable with in a gunfight. And, with the FSB, you can actually install a tritium front sight post (since Troy Industries has been promising one on their BUIS for at least a year and still hasn't delivered). And that makes one heck of a difference when the lights go out. 2 cents deposited... Someone print me a receipt? |
|
Sh!t. I'm in Iraq and even though I got the e-mail, the Army Server says it won't allow me to follow the link because it is a "web advertisement". Could someone please pm me the direct link to the DMR page on the LaRue website? The same thing happened with the UDE and AK sight. Thanks!
ETA- I finally own a page! |

Brother, they've been promising a tritium sight for over three years now. And I don't care, because I have a Micro. |

Check your IM's... ![]() |

I have to admit that the best (and possibly worst
![]() ![]() |

Is the barrel fluted under the rail? I can't tell form the pics on LaRue's site.
|
|
Damn I was hoping to see a CHF barrel.
![]() ![]()
I with you on this Combat_Jack. I might be missing somthing but a FSB and a black barrel equal $100 bucks? ![]() |
|||
|
At this point, I'm getting to the point where I neither want nor will pay extra for an FSB. It is easier to use a rail and a rail mounted front sight, and that allows an X300 on the top.

Apparently so. If you go the MSTN route (which I HIGHLY recommend) the up-charge for Ion Bond on the barrel alone is about $90...and a l-o-n-g wait. The treatment on my li'l ol' BCG was $45 if I remember correctly. RD PS: I don't get THIS email either. What the hell is wrong with my connection? It works fine for order confirm! The wife must be deleating them efore I see them... |
