I am planning on purchasing an Aimpoint Comp M2 that I will be mounting on a Bushmaster M4 flattop upper with ARMS Swan Sleeve w/ backup sight.  My question is, would I be better off using the Aimpoint Rail Grabber or the ARMS #22M68N mount?  Naturally, I would prefer to use whichever one is sturdier.  Will I have to detach the Aimpoint in order to use the backup sights, or does everything line up just right so that I can simply obtain an "iron" sight picture while looking through the Aimpoint?  Thanks for your help!

JoeGayle,

You would be better off using the ARMS 22M68N.  Everything should line up and you can use your iron sights right through the Aimpoint.

I have the same question, however, I ordered the Aimpoint 30mm extra wide rings and likewise will be mounting this on top of a Swan # 38 STD.  Will everything line up with the front sight (iron sights) similar to the 22M68N/#38 combo? Any modifications required? parts?

Thanks

rdr1018,

The ARMS #22M68N Aimpoint ring and #38 swan sleeve are made to mount the Aimpoint in the perfect spot to use open sights.  The Aimpoint extra wide ring is not.  There is about a 1/2" hieght difference between the two rings, so your ring would be too low.
