BCM Extractor Spring Upgrade Kit

The BCM Extractor Spring is a heavy 5 coil design made for the increased extractor tension required on many AR15, M4, M16 short barreled rifles.  This product also improves the reliability on a standard 16" and 14.5" carbines.

As with all BCM branded products, the highest quality is the primary focus.  Our BCM Extractor Spring is manufactured by a 9001:2000 facility employing the latest precision equipment.  BCM starts with only the highest quality chrome silicon material, heat treats to stress relieve the product and shot peens to add increased strength.

This kit also includes the new black extractor insert, standard on all M4, M4A1, Mk18 carbines and the recent new standard on M16A4 rifles.  The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included.

This kit includes:
- BCM Extractor Spring (chrome silicon, heat treated & stress relieved, shot peened)
- Crane Ind O-Ring (Mil-Spec)
- Black Extractor Insert

These upgrade kits look fantastic.  I'm curious as to why a CS ejector spring isn't included though.  Are they available seperately?

Bueller....?

sorry, didn't see the question.

Extraction is the issue that plagues AR owners for standard setups, select fire, and sbrs.

Ejection issues are very uncommon.... not to mention, almost no one has a fixture to replace ejection springs in a bolt.

Thanks!

Question - I have the upgrade kit - 6 of them without the extractor.  Haven't installed them yet, maybe this weekend.

Is the extractor in the $29 kit any different than the OEM one, generally speaking?

Thanks

I want to but a 16" upper from you all, but never seem to catch you at the right time.
No pre-order list?

The SOPMOD upgrade/rebuilt kit is a Upgrade if you don't have a BCM bolt.  But if you have a BCM bolt then it is just a rebuild kit.
So short answer is yes, it is the same as BCM OEM.
thanks!

Does the BCM BCG come with the upgarded extractors?

I've read that some people have had a hard time assembling all the parts for the extractor kit and I used what I thought was an easy way.

Get a thin zip tie and assemble the extractor into the bolt and zip the tie around to hold it all together.

Get a 3/32 roll pin (I have a set of misc. roll pins so lucky me I guess).

Tap the roll pin in until it is just inside the other side of the hole.  The goal is to leave enough room to start the pin.

Simply tap the pin and drive out the rol pin.  The roll pin's O.D. measures exactly .100 and is the same and the pin.  It is not by any means a tight fit for the roll pin.

Anyhow there ya go.

On a side note does anyone know what elastomer the oring is?

I'm guessing buna but I have a bunch of viton orings and they take a pretty high temp.  It may be a higher durometer so maybe that is bad.

The o-rings are viton but the exact size escapes me.

I am currently traveling and away from the notes that I took during Dean Caputo's diagnostic armorer's class. I'll check those notes next week for the exact size as I remember writing it down.

Ek
