Well, I decided to go down there and check out their new store. Got there a bit early and wouldn't you know, I ended up being their 1st customer in the door. I met Chris, his wife, and Ryan. Great people and very helpful. Not the least bit rattled with a new storefront and the 1st day crazies.
It's a nice shop and well laid out with their ARs, a Storm, Mini-14s, a 10/22, and even a 50 cal on display. In the cases he has Glocks (good prices - G23 at $489), Sigs, Springfields, etc. and even some wheel guns. In addition, he has EOTechs, Aimpoints, weapon lights, and lots of accessories to really trick out your ARs. From the crowd there this morning, I think he'll do very well. Chris said he got lucky as he got his shipment from RRA just this last Thursday.
Not to waste my opportunity, I just couldn't resist their Elite CAR A4 w/chrome lined barrel. So, 1 AR and 5 mags later my plastic was tired from the workout this week. No pics yet as its just like every other mid-length CAR A4 from RRA. The only difference is that this one is mine. 1st AR/M16 I've possessed in 38 years. BTW, besides mine, there were a bunch of ARs going out the front door.
The AR and mags were a fair price, but I had already spent some bucks earlier in the week for toolheads and reloading dies for my 550 to role my own. But hey, what good are reloading dies, etc. for if you don't have anything to reload, right? Well, after my Dillon order I was just a click away from
Pat's Reloading. He has a great deal on components so I picked up 5,000 M-193 bullets, 16lbs of WC844, and a sleeve of primers too.
With the brass I already had for free, I'm looking at $83.80/1,000 delivered for M-193 ammo. Even compared to WWB 55grn 40rd value packs, I'm saving $119/1,000. At that rate, I already covered my reloading components in less than the 1st 1,000rds. Now I'm saving 12¢ every time I pull the handle! Don't you just love rolling your own?
