LaRue Marketing Alert ! - - Swan / A.R.M.S. and the acronym OSR
It has recently been brought to my attention that A.R.M.S. makes something that they also call OSR. (Optics Swan Rail). Don't know if it's a coincidence, don't know when they started using it. But damn, that could very well mean that by now Swan is obtaining a trademark for OSR, like he did for his # 17, and is only waiting on it to arrive so he can loose his lawyers on for another go round. Sooooo, before we ever hit the first credit card for an OSR, we are hereby officially dropping the acronym "OSR" from all our advertising, plus advising you, the public, that we have done so through this very public and large gun-related forum. (Shouting through a bullhorn) - " Remove OSR from all the obelisks ! ! " There, that should do it. We will continue to market our excellent rifle as "Optimized Battle Rifle", but what you people want to call it around the gun range is none of our business. Sorry about the confusion - " Who knew ? "

And let us not forget that if you discuss Greek history, you must leave out a famous city-state of warriors who were around thousands of years before DIck Swan was, you still have to pay the man money. |

I stopped using your poor quality, no customer service backed, fail to return to zero pop metal Throw Levers long before you started your little witch hunt. My guess is your loosing money and instead of rectifying the problems with your mounts, materials and customer support you choose to lash out at those who have left you in the dust. You and you alone are the reason you lost the lions share of the market. Prior to this fiasco I was still considering a few of your products (Swan Sleeve, 40L and #32 bipod adapter), but now I can assure you that I have no intention of purchasing , using or recommending anything you produce. Mark, Keep up the good fight... I hope you burry his ass in shity mounts... |

I’ve been reading over the trademark section of the USPTO and also looking at big Dick’s registered trademarks. His claims on 5.56, 6.8, and 7.62 appear to apply to flashlights and his claim on #17 is for firearms accessories. If I’m understanding all that I’ve read, Dick’s OSR trademark will likely only apply to firearms accessories since they do not produce any guns and therefore Mark’s use of the OSR should not infringe on that claim. Then again I’m not a lawyer nor do I have to worry about paying for one in this case. |

Had an ARMS rear flip up sight, it blew. Not going to spend any cash in their direction. Pumped about my new
rifle which I am going to call "OSR" just because I like to give my guns names. I was not directed by anyone to do so and do so of my own free will. My company is dealing with a similar suit and it comes right down to money. Don't spend it, drop it. Mark is right. |

I propose the first 100 out the door are the: LaRue Tactical Optimized Sniper Rifle, "Swan Killer Limited Edition" Theme for SHOT Show –– Dillo versus Swan. Beverage entry tool, swan shape, white crosshairs painted on, funny tagline. Right there on the show floor –– big sign, same offer as on here, "Mounts for Clunkers" - trade up for the best (*no tax dollars were harmed in the implementation of this program) Booth –– pretty pictures of swans in crosshairs. "When you're up against the real world, dainty bird gun parts won't cut it –– presenting Dillo hardened precision, from birds to bad guys, optimized Sniper perfection - the 2010 LaRue Tactical Optimized Sniper Rifle - don't let your hardware choice put you in harms way –– live free or die" A big poster sized open letter to customers –– "One would believe that in this day and age, using numbers in a part number wouldn't be a crime. After all, it is called a part "number". It shouldn't be a stretch to believe that producing better hardware would make you respected instead of attacked with frivolous lawsuits. None of that matters though. Other than costing ARMS and legs wasted on lawyers, here at LaRue Tactical, the model number doesn't matter. I mean, we all know why LaRue is held in such high regard around here. They make absolute top-notch products, have killer customer service, donate money to pro-2nd Amendment organizations like it's going out of style, not to mention all the free stuff they give away just for the hell of it! Mark and the rest of the crew in Texas could only do half of what they currently do, and they would still have a huge following of loyal customers. Douche bags like Swan just makes people thumb their noses at his company when they read stuff like this.
