I think it's smart for Mark to do everything he can to stay out of court.
However if dick wants to go to court, then there's noting Mark will be able to do about it. At least this way he can show he's tried everything he can not to have a tm violation. Sorry to hear about this kind of crap.

| I note that they FINALLY updated their web page. It was over five years old and showing it. What they have not done is upgrade their PRODUCTS. Yes, they were indeed an innovator early on, as their web page overtly insists. But look at their latest and greatest––the Swan Sleeve. A bulky, clumsy piece of aluminum that only Bushmaster & Blackwater saw fit to use. I honest to God cannot find anyone one that uses one deliberately. I have ARMS stuff because it was a significant upgrade from B-Square in the 80's. But they have done nothing worthwhile since then. Rather than grow, they decided to retreat and sue for any patent they could possibly enforce. A sad state of affairs. I totally support protecting your intellectual property, but not at the expense of sitting on your easy chair and making money off of lawsuits instead of real innovation. |

Well, so far, here's what's being done to head off another round of litigation.
Items changed so far: - Sell Sheet (Updated, and complete) - LaRue.com web references (All changed to OBR) - LaRueOSR.com (All graphics and text changed, new URL is LaRueOBR.com, old URL directs to the new one) - OSR Manual (Changes complete, at printer) - OSR Hat (Dave has been informed to make the change) - OSR Brochure (revised file is at Sunset) - OSR Article (Harris Publications has updated the text) - OSR YouTube Video (video cannot be edited, I am making a new one to post, and the old version will be deleted) Ya see, had we been issued a cease and desist order in regards to the #17 stuff, we'd have immediately complied and went our merry way. But no ... other things were apparently at play.

I have never bought an A.R.M.S. product and will most assuredly never buy one now. It's all I can do to keep from pulling my credit card out of my wallet and gettin' all Christmasy. |
Funny thing is, that the more people get disgusted with Swan (eat a dick!), the more we're going to buy LaRue (excellent products and Dillos FTW!), so his legal hijinks totally backfire. 
I'm already browsing Stealth uppers and a lower for that UDE set I ordered, for a little post holidays carbine construction. Should be fun!

I found this pic on the A.R.S.E.... I mean A.R.M.S. site. At first I thought that was the cryptkeeper pictured on the left...but no...its Dick!? Hamming it up with Lou Ferrigno. 
Two seconds after that pic was taken Lou snapped that P.O.S. in half & Dicks dentures fell out. Swan sued Lou for punitive damages and for copyright infringement since at one point Lou was 17 years old. After staring that pictue of Dick's ginormous liver spotted heed...I am suddenly overwhelmed with a desire to eat Spam. Yech! |

It is only a waste of money and time. Mostly money for Larue. Hell if we are talking about a direct copy of a part like the Airsofters are doing that's one thing. But suing over a half assed name is a total witch hunt and waste of time. Which if that is what swan is after I guess he has succeeded in costing Larue money witch eventually cost the end user more money. |
