I am currently working in the oilfields down here south of san antonio and my company just got a contract to do some fracing up by college station, maybe even open a yard over there.  seems like I might end up getting transferred out that way woth the new fleet.  what can you tell mee about the area?  is rent decent?  areas to avoid?  might have to become an A&M fan.......yeck.

What type of places are you looking rent?  House, apartment, duplex etc..?  Rent can vary from high for the upscale apartments to pretty reasonable for older apartments and homes/duplexes.

I spent the best 6 years of my life in B/CS, there are lots of older united to try a lot of different kinds of food. Northgate is a blast, and there is good hunting and fishing nearby

I've lived in College Station since 1996 - moved away for about 8-9 months in 2003-04. We missed it and came back. Love the area. The edge of Houston is just 65-70 minutes away too
