Best overall (cost no object): Geissele. This. My opinion is don't waste your money on anything else. The Armalite and RR triggers are OK for what they are. If you buy a NM you are paying lots of extra money for what takes literally 5 minutes with some gunsmith stones. Just buy the Geissele SSA for $180 or go all out and get one of the adjustables for $280. You will not be disappointed. |

The Geissele SSA at $170 (from ADCO) is not that much more money than a RRA 2-stage and doesn't go "soft" over time. Geissele also has a new S2S (Super2Stage) trigger (from ADCO) for $125. |

If you are handy you have several options. Most time and cheapest is to pull your lower apart and stone the engagement areas. You can also adjust the spring tension too. Hit the AR-15 gunsmithing forum.
If you are not handy then just get one of the drop in trigger kits. I have shot the JP and Chip McCormack ones and have be impressed. Somewhere in the middle is the Giselle, RRA, and a couple others that will give you good results. Before you get too far into it, make sure your lower is good to go. You sometimes run across lowers where hole spacing is not to spec and/or not perpendicular which can cause binding. |

I can't believe no one has said Timney yet. They are all I use in my 3 gun rifles. I would use them in all others, but they arent cheap. The single stage 3.5 or 4 pound trigger is pretty much as good as it gets for me. I have used Mc Cormicks, Geissele's, JP's, and Jards. I still take the Timney. But as always, that's my opinion, and YMMV...

Or you could send a standard trigger to Bill Springfield. I have one in my lower if you want to try it out. Jerry Who's Bill Springfield? Does he just mod your standard trigger? Yeah and he does awesome work. Getting ready(tonight actually) to send him another one. http://www.triggerwork.net/ He is fast also. Jerry |

I had a RR 2 stage match trigger on my precision AR and it just has too much creep for me. I swapped it out for a Timney trigger about a month ago and my consistency improved a lot. It was a simple and easy swap. I highly recommend it for accuracy but it might not be ideal for 3-gun or other high action shooting. I bought it off the EE still new in pkg for 175 delivered. I looked into Geisselles but everything they offer still retains some 2-stage properties which I didn't want. |
