One of these days, I'll have a REAL job, and will be able to afford a chopper, so I can attend these events.

WW, how many of these builders are local? AZ has more than its share, if I remember right.  Here's a pic of my oldest son and me. The V-rod is mine and the yellow was a prototype from Saxon Motorcycles in Casa Grande. The V-Rod ($12k in chrome and paint later) is still a Harley, but man, it will fly! Saxon builds stuff in the low to high 20's. Pretty competitive for what you get and the way it looks. Your scooter is still one of the cleanest I've seen (something about a black bike).
Should be a good show.

... Not sure exactly, albob or HRGlen would know. Nice V-Rod you have there, they sure handle so much better than choppers on mountain roads, yours is sweeeet!

... I don't show my bike. IMO, it's just a run-of-the mill bike, but I too like black on black. It accentuates the polished billet aluminum

Jim Nasi is the only local builder.

Cole Foster is coming from CA and is a cool builder mixing the old style of bikes in a more art form.

If you really want a chopper you better jump before the first of the year.  Starting in 2006 your screwed when it comes to special construction bikes.

Cole Foster:

You can see many of the builders here Bakersfield run the same bunch was at Bakersfield in June.

These are in my garage right now.

... What's the deal on this? How can special construction bikes be regulated any worse than they already are now?

After 2006 you will only be allowed to title one special construction bike in your name, in your lifetime, even if the bike is totalled or stolen...... your done.  It sounds unbelieveable but it is all true.

My wife is getting a new bike next year.

These share a similarity to the old "board racers" (I think that's what they were called). Weren't they the hot gig back in the 20s or 30s? Very clean, but still a lean and mean look.

HRGlen, nice scooters in your garage. That new reg for special construction...is that an overaction to stolen parts, etc?

How many people in the AZHTF have bikes? Perhaps a poll is in order, with type of bikes???

No "they" claim it is a focus on environmental issues.

Weren't they also going to restrict what mods or who ( cant remember ) could do the mods to Harley Davidson's and the like?

Yup. Soon "they" will be enforcing the $10,000 fine for tampering with factory intake/exhaust systems. It's gonna hurt the "little" guy.

... Dang, I guess I got me a genuine "preban" model. I looked at the BIG BEAR CHOPPER website (read the 2006 EPA compliance link in the lower right) and they are now marketing the California emissions compliant exhaust system on their 2006 Venom Chopper

... It was just one year ago that I purchased my kit without any of those damned exhaust restrictions.

... my 2004/5 Venom

... I didn't make it there today because I'm a bit under the weather. But I understand it was better than expected. May run down tomorrow to see for myself.
