so i was trolling around the 'general' forum, and found the bike thread... and rather than posting in there i thought i'd find out who locally rides? i've been feeling some serious withdrawls lately and am craving some dry weather... come summer you can't get me off two wheels, so while i figure that i'm probably one of the only ones who rides a sport bike, i'm looking forward to getting a OHTF ride together this summer. so post pics of what you guys ride when the sun shines hought http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i19/ridesouth/Picture014.jpg cool thing about this is i'm doin' about 70, camera in friends car caught the individual spokes on the wheels but the low light background cause my lights to stream http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i19/ridesouth/DSC00009.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i19/ridesouth/kawi.jpg |
awesome!! to each their own... i sacrificed my very expensive car tuning hobby and found that a nice quick nimble bike satisfied my speed lust for a fraction of the price. |
totally understand that... i've got a few nice scars from the R1 i learned how to ride on... (stupid i know ). hell post the pics of the bikes you ride now if you want, i work with a guy who does some pretty extreme downhill mtn bike riding, looks fun but i don't need another spendy hobby, i barely find the time to do the ones i have lol. |
nice bro~ TEAM GREEN HEYOOO!!! me and the female are hoping to be able to get her started on a little streetr this summer, maybe a buell blast or something in a similiar power range. she loves to ride with me, but i want her to have her own as well. where abouts are you? |
|
very true... could always drop it an inch or two though, she's 5'4'' and a tiny thing, but eric (EDR eric) thinks he'd be able to take care of it. your buddy with the busa is his name Eric? about 6'4'' shaved head. blue busa? |
wow man, pretty intense, that's the same kind of stuff andrew is into though i don't know if he's that advanced. i'll have to show him the pics. funny that's your way to not break bones. where are these places? i haven't broken any bones on the moto's so far but i've broke my fair share doing far 'safer' things so i figure i'll just do my best to ride smart and leave the 'stunting' for safe secluded areas. jeez just noticed your bike has a lot of travel on those front forks.. but judging by the pics you probably use it all. |

I rode for 20 years, sold my last bike in '05. Now i wish I still had it. I've been mentioning another busa to the wife lately. She's pretty much against it. I built a 1985 VMax from the ground up, rode it for years. Sold it in '03. ![]() Bought a 2000 busa in Oxnard, rode it home from a biz trip. Nevada is GOOOOOOOD. Had to buy a new rear tire in Rock Springs with only 1100 miles on the bike. Here's my power ranger suit. ![]() I used to race that bike at Douglas in WY. Stock swingarm, lowered. I had cams and a pipe, and tuned it myself with an onboard air-fuel meter and a Bosch O2 sensor screwed into a jamb nut i welded into the muzzy. It was pretty cool. I had a laptop in the tank bag, and would drive a little, tune a little til I got the map right. It made 174hp at the rear wheel, dynoed at EK something or the other in Phoenix. I raced once outside Phoenix hoping to beat my best WY times in the beter air, but one day wasn't enough for me to learn to hook it up for the 60'. ![]() Me and the kids have some old beater dirt bikes now, and sleds for the snow. This was taken yesterday ![]() I'm pretty sure I'll get another busa someday. Great bikes, much better in the twisties than most people know. |

I'v had a motorcycle endorsment since I was 18. I've owned a few bikes, but I don't own one now. Need to get another. I'd like a big, powerful bike like a ZX-14, or something similar. Big enough to keep my fat ass comfy, powerful enough to keep me out of trouble. I've always wanted a V-max. Waiting for NoShow to ShowUp. Edit: The Honda pictured above would be cool. Mark. |
Mark, sounds like you need one of these: ![]() BOSS HOG Pat |
Good lord no! Mark. |
these are in hood river and falls city down by dallas. my bike has very little travel, the wifes bike has 2x as much as mine. I dont need it for most of the riding i do, although it is nice sometimes. |
HEY!! Wheres your helmet?! |
This one (90 Heritage) I had crashed about 6 years ago.. The X and I somewhere in Minnesota when this pic was taken, on a 6k x-country trip we took in 93...![]() And now this one 07 BMW k1200s, pick this up in March and put on21,000 beautiful miles, and loven it..... ![]() On the Salt Flats in UT ![]() Somewhere in UT ![]() Victory |

Nice pics noshow! Cant get very far on a tank with these, but they're pretty....and f****** loud! Mines on the left, my brothers chopper is to the right. ![]() BTW....f*** hard tails. Not only are they hard on the back, I hit a small bump on the highway on that chopper and almost lost it. Think I almost ruined a set of shorts on that ride. |
|
Damn, you, Pat,and OrARGB and a few others on here have some nice rides.. My X still has her 61 pan up in Wash. stored some place and she live's in FL, but if I kiss her ass she just might let me know where the damn thing is for me to haul it back down here, for me to kiss her ass, she can have it... I rode every day over the summer. Waiting to put the new tire on my bike and it needs to be charged. When comes warmer weather again It' riding time everyday as usual. I have a group that i normally ride with a lot and we occasionally head up to Sonic's for a bite to eat. It's funny to see all these cagers roll up to the drive through and just stare at the bikes as they cage roll by.. lol.. I love my bike. ![]() Edit to add.. we are local Beaverton Tigard, Hillsboro area guys and one from Newberg. But usually you can find us at Ava's Rosteria Coffee shop in Beverton on 2nd and Hall Blvd. Usually fill up the spots infront of the shop with our bikes. Also we take ride out to Hag lake and Bald Peak often and or Coast.. via back roads out through Carlton? to Tilamook. My brother and brother inlaw both ride Ducatis and sometimes a MV Agusta Brutale. Also note that usually They have a "Two Wheeled Tuesdays" downtown in the "Pearl district?" by the "Full Tilt Riders Club" and the President lives down the street from me. He always stares at me as i ride by his house cuz my Duc is LOUD! like a V8 with Throaty pipes. |
| Don't post much but I ride and my dad rides a Dyna...we'd be up for a summer ride. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n180/Aneddie/PDR_3314.jpg |

Go to the link if any of you would like to join in with a few of us that will be going.. Went last year for the first time and had a blast.. Its a short ride but worth the trip for a great week end ride..www.hellscanyonrally.com Victory |
I only do dirt too. Haven't ridden in a while, but I have a classic collection. 3 Maico 400's, 72, 76, and 80. 73 Husky WR 450, 81 Honda XR200R, 71 Yamaha LT100. I had 2 Hodaka 125 Wombats, but gave one to my son and the other to my cousin. |
If I have a bike by then, I'm goin' to that! Mark. |
Mark you better get on the ball my friend, time is ticking away... |
nice bike that is the same body style as mine and i read a article in one of my mags that said it was not as fast as the original ZX-6R. we will have to go for a ride and see about that.. |
i dunno where you are but i swear i saw your bike at Washington sqaure mall in the summer... love the single swing arm! |
ah a purest... don't look to bad for the age... bikes look good too long as you don't mind riding with non cruisers hope to see ya in the summer |
very nice man, we'll have to hit the twisties this summer |
nice classic look man... i dig it. my girls dad would love that thing, he's a pretty big classic harley fan. |
I believe the difference is the ZX-6R was fuel injected, where my bike has a carb. I've enjoyed it as a first bike, it will go plenty fast(150-160mph top speed) for me. It doesn't have the torque that a fuel injected bike would have, but I'm to old to be doing wheelies anyways. |
ZX-14's and busa's definately have the power... but really if i was going to get something that big and bulky i'd just end up getting a sport touring or a vtwin cruiser instead... but that's just personal preference... i'm not big enough to be able to make the ZX14 or the busa really as nimble as a like sport bikes. |
i always thought these were cool little fighters, road one around almost identicle to this that was blue, thought it was pretty fun, but so differen't than what i'm used to... i LOVE high RPM's
|
i wonder if we've met... i hang out with a lot of those 'cagers' that meet up at sonic (i'm also heavy into auto tuning, or was till i sold my car), i rode with a lot of the bikes that'd be up there as well, couple R1's, ZX6, differen't people at different times. my buddy pat always tried to get me to go to two wheel tuesdays... not really into the club thing anymore though... |
nice bro, lookin forward to riding this summer. looks nice like you said. |
as far as i'm concerned if you're on two wheels and not endangering anyone you're always welcome man... welcome to the brotherhood, looking forward to seeing you out there. i understand the mileage, i put probably about 4k on my bike this summer. ![]() TEAM GREEN HEYOOO!!! |
well then at least make sure to come around a little more come spring TEAM GREEN HEYOOO!!! |
