Obviously, the one on the right is a Soviet Bloc 33 round "Pre-58" pact ,special ops, limited run mag.....and therefore should fetch a premium price....right around $12.

"G"

P.S.  I might be mistaken , so dont quote me on that.

You are correct Terry.

Its an optical illusion and they are the exact same magazines.

I was joking with one of my students the other day who isn't familiar with M16's or AR's and he was amazed. I kept switching them back and forth and one time I would make the bottom look larger on one, and then I would make the top of the other one look larger.

Needless to say when I stacked one on top of the other hes was a little freaked out. He said that my little game with the magazines reminded him of the old "shell game" con.

Maybe I can set up a card table on the Strip and dupe unsuspecting European tourists. I should be able to clean up....

Be Safe.

Eurotourists or Californians...they don't know what those long bullet holding things are.

Looks like you have them loaded to an odd number, 29 maybe, magpul followers?

Which Magazine is Larger?

I'd guess that the magazine to the right is stacked 3 or 4 high and closer to the lens, thus larger in the picture.

When you take two 30 round magazines that are the same exact size and align them laying flat, side by side it looks like one is longer (or shorter) if you align them from the top. If you place them side by side and align them from the bottom, there is a reverse optical effect.

I posted the thread to see how many members would know that, and how many would really think they were actually two different sizes.

Most passed the test.....

Be Safe.
