Exit 57 on the LI expressway (south) about a 1/4 mile down Veterans Highway (right hand side) big shopping center...Furthest one West I know of. Maybe a Sports Authority may have em too I think there is one in Massapequa on Sunrise Hwy...

HEMPSTEAD TPKE IN LEVITTOWN THERE IS A HUGE WALMART. NEXT TO THE DRIVETHRU KRISPY KREME!!!!.

The Walmart in Coram on Rt 25 has the biggest hunting/firearms section of any of the one's I've been to on LI.
There's one in Uniondale too.

the one on 25 about 2 miles from the brookhaven shooting range is by far the best one ive been to. Their prices on shells can not be beat ($29 for a case of 250) |

Town of Oyster Bay gives Hunter Safety in August, registration in JUly. Its free. For bow, its in September, register in August. They have a website. I looked it up for the same reason (turning 52, retired from part-time "job" with USAR and have time on my hands now and a feeling like i want to hunt something (-:
Many of the gunshops give the course as well, CampSite, T and T, etc., but not sure if they have a fee. Think I saw that its 4 separate nights, the last being a test. Just do a search Hunter Safety NY and a bunch of choices come up. |

Thanks for that bit of info, i;m familiar with T&T but did not know that they offer the Class.
I have been meaning Do some hunting For a while but just never Get to it, i think i'm going to go for it this year though. |

Walmart in Massapequa's Sunrise Mall just opened. NO FIREARMS. It does have pellet guns. If you fish, not a bad selection and good prices. Expect crowds during normal peak hours- the immediate area has no other discount store. Did the Walmart in East Meadow ever get guns?

Yeah i plan to do a lotr of Fishing this Summer, last year the Fishing were bad due to all the Storms that Passed through the area, i bought a lovely new reel at Modell's and didnt even get to use it.
