To be on the safe side Id just drive up 15 or 95 for about 20 to 30 minutes out of town and then pull out into some desert off the road a ways. Alot of people go up to Apex north of Nellis AFB but its starting to show how many people go out there, its gets awfully ratty at times. If you go off the beaten path a ways I dont think you'll have any trouble. In four years of shooting out here, Ive never once seen a cop. Just dont be like the morons who drive out toward Lake Mead and starts shooting. They just ask for trouble. Also alot of guys get together for the DBS shoots. Look for RickinVegas to post something abotu the next date. I hope this helps.

If you want to be 100% safe and 100% sure, I would start looking here: www.nv.blm.gov/

When you enter BLM lands which are public lands, there should be an official posting that tells you where you cannot shoot if any and the few rules about shooting too close to a road, structure, etc. Otherwise, you are free to shoot safely. Local police generally don't have jurisdication on Federal lands so you never have to worry about them arresting you or confiscating your weapons, even by mistake.

Last place I went was up north outside Fallon, NV (probably too far for you) and you could do whatever you wanted to basically. I never saw anyone.
