Little off topic, eh?
You guys that have some video editing software, what do you use?
I don't really have need for it, but for some reason I want to get a video editing program.
I have been looking at Power Director by cyberlink, but the reviews on amazon seem to be horrible.
What I see in it that I like the looks of is that you can synch the video from up to 4 sources.
I'm not looking to spend over $100 so no professional stuff.

Suggestions for stuff better than Windows Movie Maker?

You can get adobe premier pro for $20/mo. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for my photography business and if I ever get around to doing more video I would just get that.

I wouldn't come anywhere near close to using it enough to justify $20/month.

I've just started using Lightworks. It's free for 720p videos and lower. There are a few other features you don't get in the free version but I haven't needed them yet. Works great for YouTube quality videos.

There's a whole bunch of free stuff in the Linux world.  If you are ok with using that OS, I'll send you some links.  (The OS is free too...)

Been using an oooooold copy of Premiere Pro for a long time.

Funny that it still works....  Granted, the learning curve is pretty steep.  If you don't want to learn what you're doing, you can screw things up pretty good and not get a pretty result.

As a very occasional and amateur video editor , I've been using Pinnacle Studio for years now.  Bought my last upgrade when they were still owned by Avid, haven't seen what it's like now that they're owned by Corel.

You may want to consider Adobe Photoshop and premiere elements. Not as complete as their full blown counterparts but can be had relatively cheap in comparison on Amazon. With a student email you can get the package for $79.99.
