O.K., anyone who lives or works in downtown Dallas knows that there are a lot of restaurants and other venues that valet park.  Sometimes, its pretty much your only option.  If you keep a handgun in your car, however, it raises some questions in my mind.

(1) By using the valet parking, are you getting the valet in trouble since odds are he doesn't have a CHL?

(2) What do you do to secure your weapon in the car?  Is there a big problem with valet's taking guns out of cars?

I'm relatively new to CHL and was wondering what some of you more experienced guys thought about this?  

Tuffy makes some very tough lockable storage, mostly for Jeeps, but the sliding drawers ought to fit under a truck seat OK.
I would not leave an unsecured weapon in my vehicle in any circumstance, whether there is a valet or not.

Locking toolbox in the bed of my P/U on this end.  As a CHL holder, it is your responsibility to keep your weapon secure.

I just carry it with me, if I can't carry it on my person then it doesn't go out of my site in my vehicle.

(my smallest pistol is a kel-tec P3AT, so it'll conceal anytime.  Otherwise its my G19)
