For those coming in from out of town the 59 south overpass was burned up in a wreck today. 59 south at the 65 junction in closed. Use an alternate route.

for those coming from GA.

take 459 off of 20 just east of town. 459 ends at 59/20 in bessemer. Take 59 north to exit 115. that is Allsion Bonnet Parkway. you should be good from there.

I don't have my map prog on this PC, will it affect us coming over on I-20 from Hotlanta? I know we take 20/59. I will put your direction in my prog tomorrow.

yes 459 is east of birmingham. the bridge in question is the 59 south overpass at 65. <malfunction junction>

News sadi they were trying to determine if it was damaged or not tonight. When i drove by this after noon there was a front end loader pushing bronken concrete and asphalt off the bridge. I think it will be closed for awhile.

One last ?. How much time will that add to the trip? A good guess is fine. Oh, we are from Hotlanta...we drive very fast...oh, yeah, I will be driving my grey 75 VW bug.

Ain't that the truth!!!!!! I was cruising down I85 at about 0810 this morning, running about 85, and this woman with a load of kids in a minivan comes by me. She had to be pushing 100. That thing and she might be able to do the speed, but if anything happened that required evasive manuevers on her part, it was gonna be messy.

The trip around 459 might add 10 to 15 minutes or maybe none at all. It is a much smoother road than 20/59 through town and not as much traffic. I have used it going to Texas and Mississippi a few times.

aren't CRABS also considered LOVE BUGS?

shouldn't be THAT much time difference. maybe 10-15 min or so.
