308Wood and I have completed the experiment on some ammo that ws recently purchased.

I pulled the pictures from the prior days to save bandwidth on my website and to increase the load speed for those ARFCOMERs with slow connections.

The complete test is at: The whole shootin' match!

DAY 5- Friday:  8-27-2004  120 Hours

THE USUAL SUSPECTS!

The PMC is dry after five days! Is this s surprise?  I think it is.  I really had no more expectations of this PMC ammo than I did for the S&B.  The durprise is that it performed as it was supposed to.

The Federal XM-193 is Dry.  This should not be a surprise as this ammunition is second only to the Q3131A.

The second biggest surprise!  The demilled is dry!  I am amazed thst the manufacturer could take this stuff apart and then put it back together and get a batch this right!

For the price, this stuff should be DRY!  It is!  No surprises here.

Above & Below:  No surprise here.  Wet, Wetter & Wettest!

The WOLF 5.56mm!  The Wolf is the big surprise for its waterproofness.  The problem:  after five days under water, I doubt that the rusty cases would feed reliably.

Quoted:
doncha mean XM193?

I have some Wolf that has been in a sealed 2L drink bottle of water for over 2 years.

It's pretty nasty looking.  Lotsa rust floating around.

BTW, you do know this was done in the Ammo FAQ, right?

DAMN smartass.  Yes, I fixed that and noted it on the thread in the ammo section!

I'll correct the spelling of Wolf and the Q3131A card.  I was in a hurry last night!
