Holding my nose and trying not to throw up. There's not an obvious good choice that can win. Probably going to recycle Cornyn. Not excited about the AG either, maybe Middleton unless someone has a better suggestion. I've been following the ag commissioner race more closely. Most of you probably don't care unless you work in the industry. Abbott and the former ag commissioner Susan Combs have both publicly endorsed Nate Sheets and thrown the sitting ag commissioner, Sid Miller, under the bus. They're having a debate in a couple of weeks. My personal feelings are TDA has become a marketing entity, and they throw up a lot of quick shit that hurts rather than helps. Miller has been taking his R status for granted, he wants a higher political office, just like his predecessors, it's time for him to move on. |

Not thrilled with either choice. Cornyn has a lot of seniority which is important for committees & committees are where the legislation & power come from in the Senate. He's been good for Texas. Coryn is boring, not a burn it all down bomb thrower. I couldn't vote for a complete scumbag like Ken Paxton. Paxton's a corrupt clown. GOP really needs to give us better options than Boring or Bad Bigger_Hammer  |

Reitz is in the shadow of Paxton which has some risk but I forsee will carry on with more sophisticated legal arguments against the federal gov to maintain Texas sovereignty when appopriate but cooperate with Feds when it aligns with conservative Texas values. |

The guy supported everyone of the trade deals and immigration bills like H1B that are currently biting us in the ass hard. If that doesn't dissuade you know that he is part of the Bush GOP machine that still has it's claws in TX politics. He needs to go, I'm not a paxton fan either but hes better than cornyn. |

Cornyn is not a RINO POS, he is the RINO POS. He is a big government, squishy republican who is scared of hurting a democrats feelings. I have voted against him in every primary I could. I'll probably vote for Paxton but I wouldn't be upset if Wesley Hunt gets the nod. I'm in the 9th Congressional District and will be voting for Alex Mealer. Her main opponent seems to be Briscoe Cain who was a Texas House leader of the Paxton impeachment, meaning he is a Bush and Rove lackey. I really hope she beats him. |

I'm not sure whom I'd vote for. When the time comes, I'll decide. I'd prefer to vote whomever is going to win over Talarico. Of course, I don't have a crystal ball to find out. |

Very difficult to find ballot info for this week's primary runoffs. Finally found District 30 is having a Republican runoff (Jizman Crocket's soon to be former district). Daniels responded to questions from FW Star Telegram and the vote411 website link below, Jackson didn't respond to either, kind of a ghost. Daniels sounds like a normal conservative, although didn't see anything about 2A stance. Hopefully he's being honest. Both black men FWIW. Counting now 3 big Anti-Paxton mailers, and texts with the same messages. Conservatives told to be mad about his poor performance as AG. But surprisingly nothing positive about Cornyn? The ones I have checked don't have the word Cornyn anywhere, even in the organization sending them. PS I have been posting the Tally-rico stuff in the liberal meme thread, I'll start posting here once we have an official X vs Y thread. Like I said before, I don't like Cornyn or Paxton. I have family actively working in the political sphere. I got a text last night asking me to throw my support behind Cornyn. That lead to a phone call asking for an explanation. Behind the scenes, Paxton is greasy. That's pretty much known, but there's more. People active in the Texas legislature are saying Paxton has hidden so many of his skeletons, that they'd trust voting for Talarico sooner than they'd cast a vote for Paxton. That's my concern. Paxton probably can't beat Talarico. Talarico will be sharpening his knives daily for the next 5 months to eviscerate Paxton. Cornyn, being the incumbent would probably pull it off. I'm just counting votes in the senate. It's rare for much crossover on the important issues. You can talk gun rights all day, which way do you think Talarico is going to vote if he wins? |

I think there are still remnants of the Bush machine at work and Cornyn is mist definitely supported by that wing of the Texas GOP. Politicians by nature are all slimey but Cornyn has proven he will go against his base a majority of the time. I have letters from Cornyn going back years supporting h1bs and immigration reform. He needs to go. He spent decades screwing his voting base I'll take my chances with the slimey guy that at least looks like he'll work for his base at this point. |
