Does this 3-gun match take both Saturday or Sunday to shoot all 10 stages, or can I just come on one day or the other and complete the entire match?

Please excuse my ignorance but I have just a few questions...

Three Gun Stages

Stage #1 Mad minute 1000 yard range

Shooter is standing behind his weapon, which is grounded ( rifle). On the timer the shooter moves to a prone position and fire 30 rounds at a target 200 yards away.

Bipod allowed? time limit?

Stage #2 The Foot Ball North 1

Shooter has a brief case hand cuffed to his weak hand and his weapon holstered. On the timer the shooter draws his weapon and engages all targets. (22) Steel knock downs

number of magazines allowed?

Stage #3 Shoot and Scoot North 2

Shooter moves between targets shooting on the move hitting steel targets. Shooter must complete the drill twice. (5) steel targets

Pistol or rifle?

Stage #4 Black Hawk Down South 2

While staying in the helicopter, shooter must engage all targets. Shooter must shoot one shot with pistol before transferring to Rifle. ( 20 paper Targets)

sounds fun

Stage #5 Rolling Thunder South 3

Shooter must engage 30 pepper poppers from three shooting boxes. Shooter can only fire from boxes. Shooter starts with 4 round in shot gun ( 30 shotgun targets)

pretty self explanatory

Stage #6 Tank Assault South 5

Shooter starts with shotgun loaded on bench, chamber clear safety on. On the timer the shooter picks up shotgun and knock down 5 targets. Shooter grounds a safe weapon and transitions to rifle. Shooter must hit all steel targets and paper. Steel knocked down and paper hit. (30 ) targets

pretty self explanatory

Stage #6 Vehicle Take Down South 1

While moving from cover to cover shooter will fire at all targets hitting each with rifle. Shooter can only fire one shot from each position of cover. Shooter has to move to new position after each two shots 20 paper targets

pretty self explanatory

Stage #7 Crack House North 4

Shooter starts with weapon in holster. On timer shooter moves into shoot house and disables all targets. 8 targets (paper)

pretty self explanatory

Stage #8 Alvin York

Shooter starts with Shoot gun loaded with 4 rounds. On time shooter must hit 8 pepper poppers.

pretty self explanatory

Stage #9 Bad Alley South 4

Shooter starts with Pistol in holster. On timer, shooter enters the alley and engages all targets ( 10 paper )

pretty self explanatory

Stage #10 Pistol standards 6 drills on timer

just engaging different targets at different distances?

Cool, since we can shoot all stages in one day, then I will be there at Tiger Valley South on Sunday, May 15 (have to go shoot another 3-gun at TacPro on May 14, so that will be a good warm-up).

John, did you design all of these stages or were there two evil minds involved in this. Sounds like one hell of a lot of fun and I am looking forward to shooting it. See ya on the 14th.

Any word on how many people are interested in trooper class? I'm planning on it.

Mojo, since you don't have to come down on Saturday, do you want to join me on Sunday and shoot the match with me?

Thanks, Maduce and Ranger8541, for letting us come down for one day only, hosting a well-run and challenging yet fun course of fire, and for the lunch. Nice to see all of you again, and will definitely come to the next one!

Cool! Congrats FALARAK

I'm going to plan to hit the next one, whether I just watch or have the nerve to do it. The only thing that looks like it might bite me in the butt is that tunnel

Good work guys!!!

Well.....

Copperas Cove Pistol Club has a 3-gun match every month. I believe it's on the 3rd Saturday. All of the stages are normally under 50 yards, that doesn't mean the MD won't toss in a 100 yard stage for the fun of it. Many of the stages required multiple reloads and they have a lot more targets on each stage than you'd see in an IDPA match. Several of the stages were unique and only limited by the stage designer's imagination.

I did one about a year ago, just haven't been able to get back for another. The entire crew there makes you feel more than welcome, they are a great bunch of guys. They welcome any safe shooter.

I guess if we got a few people interested, we could carpool or caravan there. It's located just south of Copperas Cove, about 5 miles. A match like this one is propably perfect for a first timer, there's not as much of a rush to get from stage to stage and get everyone through a stage. Also on the plus side is that it'll make you more comfortable for larger matches like the ones held by Tiger Valley.
