Southern Soul BBQ is simply the best BBQ that I have ever eaten. I do not miss a chance to sit down with a sampler plate at that place. pretty much i recommend the brisket(im not big on pork) or the chicken the fried green bean for a veggie or fried okra. but their pork is out of this world too. tonight they have a ruben(if they dont run out get it) and tomorrow they have prime rib its awesome Southern Soul on Diners, Dives and Drive Ins now i recommend hitting up darien and going to B&J's Steak and Seafood if you like Shrimp and Crab legs...(its right on highway 17 in down town darien and easy to get to) also you cant come to glynn county and not eat at Willies Weenie Wagon its right across from the college...its like Brunswicks Varsity take the Kids over to Jekyll and hit up Summer Waves water park. also the sea turtle thing on jekyll is a fave of kids |

Not in saint Simons but take 17 north to Darien. B&J Seafood on left hand side. Nice easy drive and a fun little trip.
Also head out to the pier. Buy a cheap crab trap and a chicken neck at the bait store by the ice cream shop. Fun time to sit around in the evenings. |

Another vote for B&J in Darien, and Southern Soul BBQ on SSI......the brisket is the bomb. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Where is it and how long has it been there? I don't get back as often as I should and I'm drawing a complete blank on this place. ![]() It's in the old service station on the roundabout. |

Catch 228 is family friendly and has oysters & shrimp - I'll be there sitting outside with a cigar later. Redfern village has a couple of casual places to eat.
Tramici has a great movie combo special, for $15 buck you get a slice of pizza, beer or wine a movie pass and coupon for a small popcorn. You have to sit at the bar and the theatre is across the parking lot. Normally, another dad and myself will park at the bar with the boys and double up on the beer ;) The county pool complex in the village is nice and secure, great views of the sound and Jekyll. You can bring your own lunch/snacks and they have food service available - The bus tours are a little pricey but they're neat, plenty of history on the island. East Beach / Coast Guard station is a fun beach and has great tidal pools at low tide. There are a couple nature trails, a frisbee golf course and of course miles of bike paths ... it all depends on what you guys like. Where are you guys staying? I'll PM you my number, please feel free to text or call if your looking for something specific. |

It had old carpet in the parking lot and looked like a shack, but had awesome food. You know the name of this place? |
