Hopefully GAcop wont shake me down for too much dinero , he is acutally getting me a great deal, many thanks!!

<--- me

At the show I picked up
Boresnake (soon, my darling)
200 rnds gold dot 230gn .45 (soon, my darling)
stinkin' patches for my .9, AR and AK
IWB Holster for the Kimber (soon, my darling)
300 .223 FMJBT bullets

I also picked up a few lbs. at La Cazuela, iff'n you know what I mean.

that's a pretty damn good price. bullseye sells them for $400 right now. i've seen them at past shows and when they first came out for $350, but that price has long since disappeared, as far as i've seen. i hope they keep making these for a while, because one day i'd like to own one.

Well I think Im dragging my mom out there tomorrow to get me one for my Christmas present. But I know nothing about nothing on the 1911's. I know this is a mil-spec gun and I know that it is an entry level 1911 but what can I do to this to make it better. Again I know nothing. What about parts for these. Are they interchangeable with other brands. Is it worth doing something like that or just a good gun for the money to go to the range and plink? Again I am going to have to drag my mom but what the hell, thats what they are for. Thanks MOM!

Just to be a bastard:

They are NOT WWII Milspec because they have an integrated GUN LOCK.

That said...it's not a bad plinker for the money.

Vedubin01, I would really suggest that you shoot a mil-spec and a "modern" (meaning with good sights, beavertail grip safety, flared and lowered ejection port, extended thumb safety, etc) 1911 before you decide to buy. I've handled both, and I just can't get used to the mil-spec type 1911s, but I love the "modern" 1911s. The reasoning behind that is that if you bought a mil-spec 1911, and then decided to take it to a smith to modify with the above mentioned features, it will cost you just as much, if not more than a gun that came from the factory like that. That said, if the mil-spec ones strike your fancy, the $369 price is kicking. Also, I do believe that the SA Milspec's gun lock is in the Main spring housing, which is easily replaced (punch out the pin, pull out, insert new MSH, reinstall pin).

Good price. Galyan's is close to that if you open an account and take the 10% discount.

I've shot the Milspec and for a base gun it's a good deal. I'd much rather have one of those than a Chuck Daly. If you plan to spend some money to upgrade and build on it's a worthy candidate.

Mayo, I didn't think Galyan's let you take to 10% off guns anymore. They did when I got my Kimber, but some guys tried getting guns on the 12-months same as cash/10% off deal a few weeks later and were denied.

As of July 2003 Galyan's allowed the additional 10% discount on opening of new charge account. They had one on sale for $419, with the 10% discount it came out to be $377.10, and they allowed 6 months same as cash payoff. Can't beat that deal.
