Me and some buddies are looking for a good place to go four-wheeling, camping, and shooting, (with a really good possibility of fishing.)  We live near Boulder.  What places are good that are within a couple hours drive?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  I know places to do all those activities individually, but not a really good place to do it all.  Thanks again

Try Guenella Pass (spelling?) either up out of George Town, or out of Grant from the 285 side. Everything you are loohing for is up there.

Might be farther than you wish to travel, but I would suggest the Geneva Lake area (Gunnison Cty).  Tons of SERIOUS off-roading (need a jeep for most of it), incredible views if Snowmass and Mt Siberia, great camping/ fishing along the Lake or along the Crystal River, and a ton of flat/ bermed areas to shoot.  We just got back the day after Mountain Rescue found that missing 66 year old man that has apparently fallen down a 1200 ft avalanche shoot, so be careful if you decide to ascend any of the serious stuff.

again, this might be further than you want to drive. on the northern end of breckenridge is a golf club and a road called tiger rd. take that road that road for a few miles, (you'll stop seeing houses) and the road will get pretty rough. so you'll want to take it slow and make sure you've got good ground clearance. eventually you'll see (you probably won't see) a small wooden sign at a fork the trail. go left and you'll get out of the trees and into some open terrain. eventually if you just keep exploring you'll find a cabin up there that's free and open to public use. you might find people there already because there's no way to reserve it. anyway it's really nice and secluded at 11,000 feet. and there's a huge boulder field next to the cabin. it's a good time, though i haven't been there in about 3 years, so i don't know what the conditions are like now. also, give your self plenty of time to find it, cuz my friends and i ended up spending 6 hours getting lost on the trail in the dark, before we found the open area.

My buddies and I ended up going out to Pawnee grasslands.  It was one of the best times I've had.  We just shot all afternoon, got up early, and kept shooting, then had to head back home to do schoolwork.  I'd recomment this place to anyone.  Thanks again.
