I just moved downtown right before Katrina hit.  Now I find myself overlooking what would be I think the worlds largest homeless shelter, except the Astrodome clearly dwarfs this one.  Here's a photo looking out my window at the lines out front of the George R Brown convention center.

Lets just say there is a whole lot more foot traffic around this area than there was a month ago, now that our "Cajun Guests" are in town.

It is the same over here in Beaumont. Some of the people are extremely ungrateful also, I cannot count how many times I hear how much they hate Texas, or Texans are stupid or Texans are this. I think I may offer a complimentary escort to the Sabine River bridge and a free swift kick in the ass back across.

"Manners? Mannaers? We don't need no stinking manners!"

Lemme see--invite "homeless" folks from NO to TX; bus them over, feed, house, clothe, shelter  and medicate them, all for free, and they not only insult, but bite the hands that feed 'em.

Fellas, we are seeing what the past 60 years of absolute liberal govmint has done to people--completely de-humanized them. GIMME, GIMME, GIMME! YOU GOTS--I WANTS!

Don't know about your citys, but in San Antonio. They also have internet connection, Cable TV, and telephone service.

I think it is the same way here, but not positive. There are some that appreciate it and I'm not expecting to get on their knees and say thank you and say how great Texas is (we already know that). But, damn common deceny is to at least not insult the people that are helping you. We are friendly here, but also do not put up with crap, the complainers and the one doing the insulting might be in for a rude awakening one day if they keep it up.

Guys,

I kid you not - this past Friday on the Ch. 13 news I saw a segment where there were several "African-Americans" from NOLA who were whining about -  no shit:  They didn't have coffee in the Dome!

I was throwing shit at the TV I was so pissed.   I am sick of the Liberel "gimme" mentality!
