Well?
Who and what are ya gonna shoot? |
I'll be there with my SP-1 and Iron sights....as long as I don't finish last I'll be happy.
I'm not going to shoot anyone. Safety first ass! I really hope Randy does a PRACTICAL pistol stange and not a mini-bullseye course. Ahem. |
I'm gonna try to be there. Shooting the Colt w/ACOG as usuall.
(Somebody has to show you guys how its done) Mark. |
Alright, I have a question I've been getting conflicting answers on since the only two rifles I have that I would even consider being close to suitable are an SKS and 9mm CX4 storm. The question is, would the storm be doable or end up just being depressing?
Ranoca, not that I'm an expert at this, been only shooting them for 5 months or so, but I'd go with the SKS if I were you. That storm would be good for the stuff under 100yds, but last match they had a stage where you shot targets out to 230yds. But, guess we could all act as your fire control team if you wanted to lob some 9mm that far!
I will not make this one as my son is getting his wolf badge and we are doing the pinwood dirby. Sad not to make but proud of my son.
I don't know if I'm going to go....Spending $50 in ammo every weekend is just too much.
Cancel your trip to Prague(sp?) and you'll have plenty of $ for shooting every weekend. |
Looks like I can make it agian.
Bringing the AR (Irons) and the Glock 23C |
Hit more of your targets with less rounds. You'll save money. Besides, I don't know where you shop for ammo, but my ammo costs are around $20-$30/match. And that's NOT Wolf. |

GREAT!.. Now WS4LiF ain't going.. I have no Bolt Carrier.. looks like i'm out.. BLOODY HELL!.. Anyone got a Bolt Carrier for Me to use?
ETA: I promise that i will not let Anarx shoot it and break it! |
Yea, it's about $30 in ammo, plus $15 to get in....I just don't have time to give up every weekend to shooting. I went to Speed Steel last weekend, now I'll need this weekend for my other job.
I have plenty for you to borrow or buy......and it's not like I live very far away. You can come over tonight if you want. |
If work slows down I will be shooting a Yugo underfolder I recently picked up. Got it at the greatest gun shop on earth,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Keiths
Good to see your still alive....where you been? |
Alrighty then.. it's all gonna depend on how much money i have left on friday. I hope i can make it.
I'll be there, but the BAR10 will stay home. It is not behaving well and it must stay at home. So I'll be shooting the .22 (3)
And who's going to Rose's @ 7AM? I'll be there...which means no Forest Park trail run for me on Saturday but I'll try to make it to the park on Friday afternoon or Sunday. |
Im going again. Had too much fun last time to miss it.
Shooting my AR with irons. |
That was a fun stage and a challenge. I would like to see it again. I was so sure he was going to use those cans on a rifle stage at 75 yards or so. With several cases left maybe it will be this month |
Same as usual: M4gery w/ EoTech, Glock 17L
Still having problems with the Desert Eagle, so that will have to wait until another time... |
The Main problem is that it's not Mine!! |
You say that until you fire it and have to search in the dirt for the firing pin, spring and retainer... |
I have an extra BCG you can borrow. Bushy std. |
It's doable using the SKS. From time to time one guy shows up and shoots with a M1 Garand. Come out and have some fun. Also, check your 7.62x39 ammo. If the bullet sticks to a magnet, it is not allowed since steel bullets damage the metal targets. I'm no expert on 7.62x39, but there is one variety of Wolf that uses FMJ that doesn't have a steel jacket. Spambo |
I'm planning on being there with 20" Bushmaster/4x CMO scope and Glock 19.
Spambo |
Hey Pribbxz, I thought you were building Romy AK's? Anyway, Congradulations! Those AK underfolders are just plain sexy Spambo |
I'll bring the Yugo .308 if you do. |
sure ya got any ammo????
I have enough ammo for one more match *7.62* but i just sold my mags so i would need to barrow a few in order to run the AK... but i was hoping to barrow an AR for the match.. *thought the AK would of sold by now...* But hopefull an AR(barrowed) and my XD.. Ranoca if you have the mags for the AK i'll let you use mine and trade ya 223 for 7.62.. Jess |
Been working 6-10 in Newberg trying to get the new hospital done by may third.
Sorry I havent got back to a few of you guys in a while. As far as the Ak builds, they got put on hold until some time frees up or someone else want to take it over for a modest fee. lol |
I'm in! Be using the usual, 20" AR with ELCAN scope. Trying the railed handguard w/VFG for the first time.
Anarx, you can use my AR if you want to. I have extra mags, just bring .223/5.56 ammo. BSW |
I'll be on the property... but won't be able to make the match.
I'll be out there but I'll be in the IPSC cert class. Hopefully I can swing by and shoot off a few rounds of something.
You'll break my AR agian Anarx. Probably Gunkata's AR as well.
You will be the only one there will 22lr.
Buy some 9mm, and borrow someones Glock there. If any one needs any 7.62, I know where there is 500 rounds for a good price. |
Unlike the paper target make believe world, PRACTICAL Rifle often uses steel targets that must be moved. Anything less than a 9mm probably won't have enough power to move them and count as a hit. In fact I've seen underpowered 9mm ammunition fail. One time the guy was hitting the target over and over, barely moving it with his 9mm. He ran out of ammo before he knocked all the targets over. Cheap Bimart 9mm like UMC and Winchester white box is proven to have enough power for most PR targets. Anything less is a crap shoot. .45's, 10mm's, and above get extra credit for hitting the targets like hammers. |
Randy's email just went out and he says "bring a six-pack of DIET pop" to shoot your rifle at.
I suggest a scoped rifle |
He said that last time. I should have brought a scoped pistol! |
If you shot your pistol more you would have nailed them. Expertise with .22LR pistols doesn't seem to translate to centerfire well, so practice with what you will be shooting. Sleeping in instead of going to the pistol match last Sunday won't help you either. |
how strong of a sugestion is that, none of my ar's have scopes |
If by "sleeping in" you mean "throwing up in a toilet", yeah... |
Y'all are so good with your rifles. I don't understand why you can't hit anything with your pistols! |
Some of us hit everything, including the pop cans, with them |
Well, I won't be making this PR :(
I got a gig this weekend and quite frankly I need the money to support my gun habit (and MAYBE pay rent). Have fun and be safe. |
If you can't make it to Practical Rifle there is 600 yard shooting the following Saturday, but you have to be a TCGC member for that and have a solid 300 yard zero.
Recently both Phil and Kyle have regularly finished in the top five (if not the top two!) - both have been using iron sights (and .308). Bring what you have, be safe, have fun, and learn from the experience. Respectfully, ac |
