Legal on a rifle or a shotgun.
Not legal on a pistol. |

What if the rifle is registered as a pistol? like say an AMD65 with an OAL of 26 inches, can that have the front vert grip? McM

Yes you can still have it ,the p.grip law is a federal law and they still consider your gun a rifle .
