Saturday for the show and lunch.

Then to see Brad86 if he is out of ICU by then.

I wonder if "Arfcom family" counts as immediate family to the nurses?

Usually around the VCDL booth up front around 11:00 IIRC.

Someone will chime in with specifics.

We would enjoy your company.

Actually we should meet up around 11:50 at the VCDL booth near the front door. We can BS for a little bit, and then leave for lunch.

Sounds like a plan!

I'll be at the show with a friend from work - not positive about lunch yet, but I'll at least drop by to BS.

Hey, that was fun!

Good to see everyone at the lunch (thanks LRT).

Ditto what VA-gunnut said about the show itself.

As usual no coperation  from the railroad so I'll try making it Sunday

The only way now days is to start off with going to one of the Colleges that offer the "Railroad Conductors" course...... I shit you not..... all the new hires from the last 8 years have been hired from one of these schools.... most of the new guys say the course cost them about 5k...that includes rent, food, etc....I think its a five week class and to be honest with you I don't know what colleges offer the course at this time, I know Marshall U up in Huntington WVA use to... Sometimes there's an ad in the Sunday Richmond/Times paper and if you don't get that paper check out any of the major papers across the state...

Sorry that I didn't make it for the lunch, got a LATE start this morning (1130) and I'm in Norfolk.  Wore my 458 SOCOM Tshirt and got like 10 questions, probably sold at least 1 upper for Marty!

I got a 6.5 Grendel upper, 20inch hunter top, for $575.  Now I gotta get some magazines.  Already have brass, bullets, and dies.  I'm probably gonna make a dedicated lower for this one, too.

Got TNT reloading to sell me 5k Hornady 55gn FMJs for $35/K!

Found some coyote Cav Arms rifle length handguards for $15, been looking for these for a while.

Talked a used 30 USGI mag guy down to $8 each if I bought 20.  Stocked up.  Same guy as last week in Hampton, same deal!

Found new USGIs for $14.95, talked 'em down to $12 each if I bought 10, got 10 more!  Same guy as last week in Hampton, same deal!

One dealer had Q3131A $4/box of 20.  Lots of Radway Green and Olympic .223 to be had, prices about $10 lower/1K than they were last week in Hampton.  Georgia Arms had 55gn FMJ LC brass for $80/500.  Pretty good plinking ammo.

Quantico Arms didn't bring any MagPul stuff this week, either, but I still bought the knee pads and sling that I passed on last week in Hampton.

BM, Colt, and RRA complete rifles were still getting a premium.  Some dealers haven't figured out that the AW ban is dead yet on their mag prices, several dealers had $40+ on new USGI mags.  AR barrels are still hard to come by, last year this time you could swing a dead cat and find 10+ dealers that couldn't GIVE AR barrels away!

Found a real M16, $12k.  Condition it was in (major lower finish wear, needed a new disconnecter and hammer, upper inside was worn and needed a new barrel terribly bad (pits visible on the muzzle and throat wear visible from the chamber end)I offered him $10k and offered him cash and told him that I'm familiar with Class 3 transfers and he all but cussed me out, and then took the gun and put it in a case behind and under his tables.  Too bad, his loss--just got the first of a few settlement checks for a business law suit that would have covered that price several times over.    Think I'll shop around a little more and probably wait until later in the year.  Maybe another supressor to tide me over!

Green Top was busy as hell this afternoon, too, several gun purchasers and lots of people on the fish side.  Cleaned 'em out on TAC.  Have 1K Mk262 to make, should see me through the summer!

Overall it's a normal Showplace show, but sorta quiet overall.  I judge by the crowd around Trader Jerry's (Jerry Claypool always has fair prices and he'll haggle some if you talk to Jerry), the crowd around Dark Sun (total asshole gypsie gun dealers, but you just can't beat their prices on the surplus stuff).  They were also the only ones again with stripped AR lowers (RRA for $139=tax).  Rabbit Ridge was doing a good business, as was Tony's uppers, and there's a fierce pricing war going on on high end pistols (Sigs, HKs) with some dealers asking full retail+ and others asking about $10 over dealer cost right next door, with plenty of both going home with people today (saw 5 new purchases in about 2 hours).  I was way tempted on another new Sig, but my wife gave me the Squinty Eyes of DEATH (this was AFTER I had already bought all the stuff above and made several trips to the van!)

Just about everyone leaving had something that they had bought.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the lunch, hopefully next time I'll be able to get out of bed earlier and make the lunch.

At the show, I should have gotten more M14 mags at $20 a pop. I wanted another Glock 20, the wife did not want me to get it yet. I saw a G20 gen.3 with an OD frame too!

Thanks to L-R-T for buying lunch, I owe you one.

I stopped by DeGoffs' to see Templar and also got to meet GotM4 and 9x19, great folks.

I saw Brad86 for about a half hour yesterday, he looks good he just needs rest and they were giving him blood when I was there.

Hope to see you all again soon,

Danny

Yeah , it was funny she bought a 5 dollar necklace and told my friend (her husband)about it ,he didnt say a word , he just walked to a booth and bought a AK lol. She ask why in the h#ll did you buy that? his responce you got a necklace so I'd figured it would be ok for me to get a gun.   Sounded logical to me lol.
