"When does our taxpayer's money stop going to big corporate companies? At some time, they must take the responsibility of hiring, and selling their products," said District Three Councilwoman, Yvonne McBride.

I don't even understand what that means aside from Yvonne doesn't want money to go to "big" companies. FN hires and sells everyday

After the council vote, members of the public gathered outside to make sense of the decision. One resident who spoke at the meeting, says he's happy the deal did not go through, but says this is just the beginning.

Beginning of what? Running big companies out of the county? Complaining about how there aren't any jobs?

"The next step is to reduce the amount of guns in my community, so I'm going to work with whoever I can to do a gun buyback program," said Mark Talbert.

More delusion, the people with guns you should be worried about, you don't want to talk about.

McBride, like most on the county council, is a retard.

Good for them. I hope they take the whole enchilada before it’s done.

Richland County Council revisited the the vote "on a technicality" and reversed it.  What a bunch of morans.  Well played, FN.

I still hope Pickens gets the whole 'FN enchilada eventually.  Because all Richland will have is land cleared for a battery plant that won't exist.

I guess the dimbasses thought FN would stop making more guns if the puffed up their chest at them?
Guess what?  Fuck you. FN gonna keep doing FN shit.

Running FN out of Richland County while other businesses are closing their doors (Wild Wings Cafe just closed the LAST of their 3 locations in Richland County, for example) is absolute idiocy. They probably took a hard look at how many high-paying jobs they were going to lose and made up that "technicality".

Wow.  Buffalo Wild Wings in NE also shuttered it’s doors last week.  Not sure about the other locations in town.

No idea. My daughter lives close by and told us the other day.  I use to live real close as well, but I’m in Kershaw county now.

They just leveled the Chick fil a on Two Notch to build a modern style with the upgraded drive through systems.  That place was a shit show trying to grab lunch.
I was in line one day and someone behind me was telling the order taker that the blue SUV behind them cut in line in front of everyone. They didn’t take their order and made them sit in the drive through line twice.  It was glorious.

I'd still like to know who all got paid off for the Scout thing.  And yeah, I see that being another obama style "green" project that'll end up with some folks making money at the taxpayers' expense.

Noticed the typo in the quote.

i'm unfamilliar with the Scout thing.

i did find some little reading that FN has chosen Pickens County to build another factory now..  something like 168 jobs eventually will be there.  i think it was something like 100000 sq ft factory or something.  we really missed that boat.

VW is already scaling back EV manufacturing plans and plants in Europe:  https://www.autoweek.com/news/a45411379/vw-ev-factory-plans-canceled/

VW owns Scout Motors in the U.S. via their acquisition of Navistar/International Harvester in 2020 and 2021 merger into a VW subgroup.  At best, Scout in Blythewood is lining up to be the next Winnsboro Mack Trucks/Volvo plant closure with EV demand in the US softening.  More likely, Scout will be partially built and abandoned at taxpayer (ratepayer) expense like the VC Summer "Nukegate" expansion.

Recent U.S. EV demand concerns, after 2 pages of green fluff search hits:
