Finally decided to try reloading ammo for my AR's, only problem is I don't know where to start apart from trawling the internet for hours.

Are there any kind souls out there who are prepared to share their loads with me, appreciate that they might be top secret but any help appreciated.

Just looking for a starting point, realise that I need to fine tune them for my particular rifle.

Also what primers and brass are people tending to use.

My personal choice for general use is 77gn Sierras, 24.5 gns of Reloader 15 with Remington 7.5 small rifle primers loaded out to just under mag length.

Doesn't change much for 80gn Sierra Match Kings either.

Have fun and keep safe.

77 grain Sierra Matchkings, 24.5grains  Varget, Remmie 7 1/2 primers. ( or CCI BR2 primers  go well with Varget too.) Winchester Brass.

I notice here a couple of people using Magnum primers, is there a particular reason for this

IFAIK there is no need to use magnum primers in a 223, but it shouldn't hurt.

Winchester/Federal Brass, 24.5grn reloader 15, CCI Small rifle Benchrest primers, loaded to 2.26"

What does everyone use for 600yds with 80 Sierras ? - reloaders nest has a load of
80grn Sierra, 24.5grn Reloader 15, but no OAL - I made a dummy fo rthe press by seating the bulet, then single feeding it until it touched the lands, then came down 0.003"

Any other suggestions ?

TTH and HTH

They won't give an OAL coz they all differ.
Chambers is chambers.
Yours is in the region of 2.420" with a Sierra 80.

I load mine to nearly touching.
Sierra's are tough and can take the jump

OK, so my reloading gear arrives tomorrow, only slight problem is that I can't find anyone with Sierra Matchking's in stock.

Does anyone know of anywhere that might have them in stock, if not what is everyone else using if they can't get hold of them.
