Just south of Marion is Shawnee National Forest.   Hike for 5 minutes into the forest and start shooting.  You have to be a certain distance from public roads and public areas, but that's about it as far as rules go.   I wish I lived closer to Shawnee.   BTW Squirl season is about to start,  You can use any caliber of rifle or gauge of shotgun you want to hunt them with in Shawnee.
