Don't know much about PayPal. Whats the deal...If you send money they charge you a fee and if you receive money they hold it for a month before they dispense the funds?? Am I on track or not... Thanks

If you receive money you pay a fee 3%. Just like merchants pay a fee when people use credit cards at their business. They do not hold the money, when you register you tie a bank account to the paypal account. You can electronically transfer the funds to your bank account( takes a couple days I think ) or you can get an atm/debit card that you use against your paypal balance, which is what I do. There is no charge to send $$ ,sometimes the seller you are buying from is asking for extra $$ to cover the 3% fee he has to pay, but paypal does not charge you to send $$.

Vendors can also set it up so that their customers can simply provide a credit card number to pay pal for a one-time payment. You don't need an account to send funds via pay pal.

Do note that PayPal is supposedly rabidly anti-gun.

I have also read that they will shut down peoples accounts if they are receiving money for alcohol, tobacco and "Adult" services as well as gun stuff. I think they are most likely covering their ass / anti potential lawsuits, not anti gun. YMMV

Damn, Pushing that “morality” stuff on folks is a little harsh…’specially for us Nevadans, we are pretty much all about alcohol, tobacco and adult pleasure. LOL

I think they go well beyond just covering their asses.  LINK

Look at everything they regulate www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/use/index_frame-outside , is paypal owned by libs that don't like guns, probably so. But if you look at the long list of stuff they don't want you to buy and sell with their service they ARE covering their ass. Until congress acted just recently, gun manufactures were being sued for their product being used in a crime. If you use that logic it is not that big of a leap for someone to sue paypal because they handled the transaction in which the criminal purchased the gun IMO. Don't get me wrong, I don't like paypal all that much but it is the best thing out there for quick money transfers.

Please explain to me how they are just covering themselves by allowing the purchase of a low capacity magazine, but not a full capacity magazine?  Will they only be sued for rounds 11 on?  Assault rifle parts?  What exactly does that mean?  What they will do is keep the funds if they feel like it, and use the excuse that you broke their nonsensical policies.  Read up on some of the other forums on what they do, then see if you think they are just taking reasonable care.

It reads like they are reffering to items covered by the AWB because they also mention NFA items in the same area. Now the AWB is over and paypal has no desire to update the rules because they don't care to. Hate them all you want. I'll still use the shit out of them to sell with on ebay and use the funds to buy evil assault weapon parts on the EE.

I don't hate them, but acknowledge that they are somewhat anti-gun.  I have read a number of horror stories from sellers, some of who I have had correspondence with on forums for a good while and consider trustworthy, getting burned.  So when you sell that LaRue forend to someone for $400 and they decide to keep your cash just for the fuck of it, I will sadly add you to the list.  I have heard that even if you dispute that your transaction was not against their rules, that they have internal policies to occasionally pull that kind of crap anyway, and your complaints will simply be ignored.

So use the shit out of them all you want, but at least come tell us if you end up on the short end sometime - that way maybe someone else can avoid the problem, OK?

BTW, I am not hoping for you to get shafted just so I can be "right".

All you need to do is visit this website for a little information about Paypal and the lawsuits that have been brought against them.. (and ones that should)

I don't argue the bad stuff you guys are saying about paypal. In a perfect world there would be a pro 2nd alternative, but in this one there isn't. If you are going to sell stuff online more than occasionally paypal is a necessary evil.
