Standard failure training:  when your weapon fails just throw the rounds at them.

  Dumbass journalists.

From that link:

An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City.(AFP/Wissam al-Okaili)

My response:

I recently saw your photo of an Iraqi woman holding two "bullets" she said hit her house.  This can't possibly be true because she is holding two unfired cartridges.

When bullets are fired, only the top part of the cartridge, the actual "bullet" is fired.  The rest of the cartridge, the "casing", is ejected from the side of the rifle.

The only way those two "bullets" could have hit her house is if a soldier had removed them from his magazine and thrown them.

That photo makes someone look stupid, and it ain't the US military.

Didn't even take my wife two seconds to realize what was wrong with that picture..

It's really amazing to see what lengths anti-gunner/anti-war journalists will go to, and the scary part is most people wouldn't even know something was wrong.

It's not even military ammo - or apparently not, anyhow.  M855 has a green painted tip and anneal marks remaining on the case neck and shoulder.  This stuff has either been fed through a tumbler, or never had such markings in the first place.
