Our standard six mile hike to blow out the cobwebs of the week past.
We operate among a high concentration of Karens so we avoid battle-rattle, but as long as we're returning in the dark NVGs or illumination are recommended to avoid getting hit by the drunk cyclists that use the trail then. Newbies welcome - IM me for meeting location details, and only bring comfortable shoes and plenty of water. Anyone doing the APC qualifying hike should mention it at the beginning to make sure we're getting all that data to pass on. Leashed, nice dogs welcome. Kids that can keep up are too. |

Hunter Station is closer and easier for me to get to after work, then going over my kid's homework, dropping him off at Grandma's, and finally hauling ass to the designated jump off point all because his mother and I are in the same stupid early morning construction trade. Like usual, I'll have to check out halfway as I was "volunteered" by my boss to be on call from 2am - 5:59am, right before I start my 6am - 6pm shift. ETA - I miss sleep. |

I enjoyed the hike... it got me off my ass. I won't lie, I haven’t really hiked in 25 years and have to work back up in order to keep up when carrying a weighted pack. Enjoyed the gravel trail! |
