Sorry Newbie question here.

When the ban does happen where do we get the form to register the rifles with the DOJ?
Is it on the DOJ site?

Also is it true we have to go to our local PD station and notify them also?

It will be available online and at most gun dealers and probably even other  state offices, PD's, ect.

No.

Is it on the DOJ site? The DOJ should post it on their web sight. Just keep checking this forum or over on Calguns.net. There are people keeping a close eye on things and the information will be posted

Also is it true we have to go to our local PD station and notify them also? No, that is not true in this case

I called the DOJ about the .50 registration, which is a different form from the I think FD-23 form.  Anyways, point being call the DOJ and they will mail you some.

The person was helpful.

I am pretty sure the form will NOT be posted on the DOJ website - it's a card, and you have to get thumbprinted at an authorized location too.

The DOJ will likely announce that the cards are available for those registering certain makes/models that have been declared.

It will be very low-key.  Make sure you stay tuned here and/or on Calguns.net to hear about it.
