If the NRA gets taken down what would be the future of the Whitington Center up in Raton?
What would be the effect on the local clubs that rely on the NRA insurance and certifications of RSO's at the clubs?
This could get ugly....
That's...that's the point. Don't you think gun grabbers know that every range is insured by the NRA? That every state, including NM, that has requirements to take some kind of class for things like a concealed carry license requires the instructors be certified by the NRA? Where have you been, that's literally the whole point of destroying the NRA for them.
If the NRA hadn't constantly sold us out they'd have a lot more support, but it will be necessary to vigorously fund and defend a successor organization if they fall.
. Whittington is a separate entity from the NRA parent. Whittington is its own 501c3. It is not an asset of the NRA per se. If I recall there was a lot of politics on the NRA Board when Whittington was proposed and the final outcome was that NRA money could not be used for purchasing the property and developing it. It all had to come from donations specifically for the Whittington 501c3.
That said, the NRA leadership has screwed the pooch royally. It would be a shame if Whittington is intertwined enough financially to be lost in this fiasco.
