The Manitou Springs City Council will consider an ordinance that will ban open carry in much of the city.

The ordinance was passed on first reading without dissent.  The second, and final, reading will occur at the next City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 7 PM, Manitou Springs City Hall, 606 Manitou Ave.
All gun-rights supporters are encouraged to attend.

Should you attend, it is suggested that you get there early as there is limited parking and seating space.  Please dress properly and speak respectfully.  We may not change their minds, but we don’t want to give them reason to believe they are doing the right thing by our actions.  A representative of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition will be there with PPFC stickers.  Since there will likely be many more people there than time for all to speak, wearing a PPFC sticker is a good way to show that you oppose the ordinance.

This is a good chance for us to challenge this action under the new state law.  There will be a lot of media present.  They will be looking for the “radical, gun nuts” as examples of why people should fear guns and gun owners.  Don’t give them any ammunition!!
