Just curious, anyone know where there is a machine shop in the Puget Sound area where I can do my own milling or that rents out CNC machines?  I found lots of machine shops, just no where that I can do the machining myself.

No co-op shops. used to be but liability and miss management, IMHO, ran them out. What are you trying to accomplish?

Yeah, too much liability for allowing an outsider to come in and run someones machines. I don't have any CNC gear, but if I did, I still wouldn't allow someone I didn't know to program and or run them.

Basically just the FCP on an 80/20 AR lower.  I don't have a milling machine, don't have the space for one (Apt dweller), and to be honest, I don't want to spend 600-1000 bucks for a milling machine and than the CNC retrofit.

I'd say if your getting into a mill for under a grand your either cutting corners or getting a helluva deal. My mill was bought at 50% of retail and it cost me around $5k. No CNC capabilities involved. Then there's the perhiperal tools and tooling. But I digress. If you've the skill to write the required programs and set up a machine to get the job done, I would clearly be preaching to a choir member. I have done some 0% lowers and they were a bitch frankly, but I digress.

I'd say if you are willing to pay shop rate for using my mill with my supervision, you could use my machinery if you understand that if you break something you need to pay for it or replace it. Also any injury or liability  are your responsability.

I was looking at one of those HF x2's, from what I hear and read they work great.  That's an idea.  How much are your rates?

Shop rate is $40 an hour normally if I am providing the labor. I supervised some folks doing what your doing a while ago back when I had my lisence. Took them about five hours to do two lowers.
