Hello Fellow Minnesotans. This will help organize MN Events.
If possible, could I get you to post the following: First Name City/Region of Minnesota E-Mail Address And something you may want to tell us about yourself. [red]Update: I'm sorry to bring this up everyone, but I was wondering if it's possible for all of you who have previously checked in to edit their posts so they fit the above format? This way we can keep this thread clean, and by only having one entry per member we will reduce the clutter and give a more accurate count/representation of our MN members. I'm going through to delete any additional posts I may have made to this topic. Sorry for the inconvenience.[/red] Edited again to add perhaps I should go first: Mathew Minneapolis Email Through AR15.com Armament Club President at the University of MN |

Metro area here.
I don't currently own an AR15 but do plan to build one someday when funds are avaiable. Read AR15.com almost daily. |

I'm in White Bear Lake (North suburbs). Email me thru AR15.com My friends usually go to Armored Fire ( http://www.armored-fire.com ) if we don't go up to my Grandma's farm and shoot. BTW AF has some good looking British 30 rounders for $22 and change. I picked one up when I started to break in my AR15 there this past weekend. <- british steel ones. |

Checking in, Living in Champlin, working in Bloomington.
I know we'd discussed the next Minneapolis shoot - mcnielsen suggested that we go to Bill's in Robbinsdale - he mentioned something about reserving the entire rifle range for us undesireables. Is this something anyone would want to do in January? |
I started a reply, but it vanished on me somehow. So, I'll try again. I shoot at the Carver County Sportsmans Club in Waconia and at the Wealthwood Gun Club (north side of Lake Mille Lacs). I'd be hip to hookin' up anywhere for a shoot.

checking in......E. St. Paul around the Lake Phalen area......belong to the Oakdale Gun club in Lake Elmo..............

checking in...
mcnielsen in the Downtown Minneapolis/South Mpls. area. Let's try and set something up for Bill's Gun Range in January. I'll talk to Victoria at the range to set something up. We'll figure something out after the holidays. Ready to Roll! |
Just checking in...
North metro here. Currently have a DPMS lower, getting a Dissipator style upper soon [bounce] |

Hello,
I live too close to Armored Fire, so Im biased. Bills Gun Range does NOT allow brass or steel shell cases to be shot at the range... The range that is only 25 yards deep... So, I think Armored Fire is the BESTEST place to shoot in the winter. Nice people, costs are the same and they are great for group events. Not to mention I can shoot all my crappy Blazer ammo there! I know a nice place we can rent up by Princeton, MN...It is where they have annual machine-gun shoots. This would be good in the warmer months. 100 yard gravel pit that is JUNK FRIENDLY! DA |
Princeton is straight north on 169. Very roughly 1/2 way between Rodgers and Garrison. iNuhBaDNayburhood, are you still (IIRC) in Brooklyn Park? I go thru there almost every weekend. My folks live up in Deerwood.
Sleepy717 |
If anyone wants to get a outdoor shoot going, I can start getting some of steel "swinging gongs" welded up. There's a great mexican restaurant on 169 in Princeton (Chicos Place). Keep us informed.
Sleepy717 BTW-Hope the tests went well. |

Would non-AR-owning people (yeah I can't believe it they do exist!) be able to come and shoot other guns too?
If so I have a few friends that like to go shooting. |
Quoted: checking in... Southeast MN - Rochester to be exact. View Quote Lab Rat.. I am in rural Rochester (Pine Island/Oronoco area).. where do you shoot in the area?.. I am member of Zumbro Rifle Club, but have not spent much time at the range there.. do most of my shooting at my own range at cabin in north MN.. Let me know your shooting "habits".. we'll have to try to connect. Bravo5-2 |
checking in from nw minnesota. metro is about a five hour drive, but a shoot would be a great reason to drive. i have a 100 yd + range nearby that would be available and lodging at a local hotel as well.
jem375: i'm from that neighborhood, near english/larp |
Devil-
I know the range you're talking about up in Princeton. Took a class there. It would be an excellent venue for our get together. |
The friends I was talking about own guns but not ARs. I'm sure if they wanted to shoot others they would offer ammo or a "short term gun trade".

Half the fun of these things is playing with other folk's toys... Like DevilsAdvocate's uzi! I gotta get a case of LE slugs for the next one. |

Hey sleepy, how often do you shoot at Wealthwood?
My cabin is about a mile from that place....the 300 yard range is nice but the "1 shot every 5 seconds = rapid fire" mentality gets a little old. If they want to see rapid fire, I'll bring up iNuhBaDNayburhood.....he'll show 'em rapid fire. |
b910....pretty close to me...I live at the Maryland/Arcade area.........
Fredgunner....yeah, the waiting list is long and right now is closed......But, a lot of guys didn't do their range duty, so, that probably means they are not going to renew their memberships next year......So, hopefully there will be openings for next year.......

iNuhBaDNayburhood:
nope, that is about two hours east of here. i am near mahnomen. jem375: what's up on the east side lately? i miss my friends down at yarusso's. |
jem
Can you keep me posted on openings? I'd be happy just to get on the waiting list. DA We can cure that with a little brainstorming, and no 3" mags. |
friends (especially female!) are always welcome.. have plenty of AR's so all can enjoy.. small contrib $'s for ammo would be sufficient.
MN shoot would be nice [^] .. great to see the number of posts to this thread.. let's arrange a get-together. ..I passed this thread on to "Westy".. he accompanied me to BRC'02.. from the SE Metro burbs.. waiting for him to check in. who else is in the Rochester area???.. sound off! Looking forward to meeting the MN members! Happy & Safe Holidays to All!! Bravo5-2 |
Fredgunner.....will keep you posted about opening at the Oakdale Gun Club.....I get the club flyer every month and it is time to renew the membership, so, will find out fairly soon about openings.......
Lurch,
I shoot at Wealthwood about one to two times a month. My folks live about 15 min from there (Deerwood). I spend just about every weekend up in that neck of the woods. The only time the wife & kids don't venture up there is when work is too buisy. I hope to go shootin' there this weekend. I'm praying for snow at this point... Sleepy717 |

Hi all Minnesotans !
I live in Lakeville, make the trip daily to Waseca for work and would be interested in any get-togethers. I usually shoot at the Sportsman Club in Waseca. (Outdoor range). |
Westy...Do you ever shoot at the Burnsville indoor shooting range off of Hwy.42?....I used to go there all the time during the winter, but, now I probably will go to Armored Fire near Lino Lakes, shade closer......
MN members.. just posted DPMS lower receiver assembly on EquipExchange.. in state, local txfr possible to save ship/ffl fees.. I work in metro.
Edit to add: MN members $240.00 for private txfr - all ATF/State/Local regs apply. email if interested. Thanks, Bravo5-2 |
Bravo5-2.. I belong to the Southern MN Sportsman's Club (south of Roch). It's only about 10 minutes from where I live, but it kinda sucks in some ways so I'm looking for a new place. Thinking about joining the Pine Island club that has the little range along Hwy 52. How's the Zumbro range? I need someplace where I can shoot handgun at 3, 7, 15 and 25 yards. At the place I go now they bitch if you shoot anything other than 25 or 50 yards, sitting at a bench...
edited to add... Do you have any good ffl's in your area? I'm looking for one to do a couple transfers. |
Lab_Rat;
I live pretty close to PI range.. only reason I didn't join was no long range.. Zumbro has 200yds.. pretty good range.. several stations.. they were planning a roof over bench area this past year.. don't know if they completed or not.. have not been out for long time.. usually shoot at my cabin in north-MN. If we get some decent weather, I could meet you and take you up to Zumbrota range for a shoot.. if I recall membership is $25/yr + a few buck for gate key(?) regarding txfr FFL's, check AuctionArms for list.. thought I saw a few in area cities. Bravo5-2 |
Well, I better check in. I unfortunately don't get here nearly enough, and get to shoot even less.
Oh, I'm in Stillwater |

How about an Armored Fire get-together on Dec. 28th...Late afternoon, after the Bloomington gun show?
I'm not sure I'll be around town on the 28th. I may be "up nort" for the weekend and my folks, in which case, I'll be going to Wealthwood. By the way, where is Armored Fire loacted? What kind of facility is it and what do the allow people to shoot?
Thank you, Sleepy717 |
Too bad I won't be in town the 28th.....heading for lake of the woods on the 26th and coming back on the 29th........I have gone to Armored Fire once and it was pretty nice there......the only thing about indoor ranges I don't like is when I shoot auto's and it is too hard to get your cases from the floor since half of them go inside the barrier.......

I make the drive from Roch every day, can just as well do it on a weekend! Quoted: Please post some info on the Bloomington Gun Show.. where in Bloomington? View Quote The shows there are kind of on the small side, I think there in the Henn. Tech. College. I've come to skip the show, not much there I buy, (old stuff). You missed a huge weapon show in St. Paul last week-end!!! The DPMS guys had smoking deals on there lowers and Aimpoints. Theres another BIG show coming to: Minneapolis Convention Center Feb. 22-23 2003 & March 22-23 State Fair grounds. |

Dayton here. (Well hidden between Anoka and Rogers)
