I've been stuck offshore for a few weeks, but now that I'm home I will have to go to Waveland / Bay St. Louis to check on the mother-in-law's camper trailer... Take pics for insurance etc.

Has anyone been there lately? Is it possible to get there now? the MOL is out of state so we would have no proof of mississippi residence or an good reason to be there. I saw on the news about them setting up barbed wire perimiters and checkpoints. Any information would help. Thanks.

Waveland?  Yikes.  Not good.  Without proof of residence, I doubt you will get in.  I know in Biloxi, Long Beach, and Pass Chrisitian you aren't getting south of the railroad tracks without ID or being on a disaster recovery team.  I'm not sure where the line is in Bay St. Louis and Waveland, but they were hit harder.  I'll make a phone call or two and see if I can find out for you.

I'll have her mom mail a copy of her liscense to us along with a notarized letter asking us to check on her property , but the title of the trailer is somewhere in Waveland. Thanks in advance for any information you can find.

Went to Waveland and BSL yesterday.  Had to pass a checkpoint to get south of the railroad tracks in Waveland on the way in before noon, but on a return trip in the afternoon, there didn't appear to be any restrictions.  That, of course, is subject to change.  Can you give me a general location of where you will be looking?  I have pics of some of the area, including some taken from the water tank that was a block from the Waveland City Hall, and they are staggering.

Her camper was in a storage at the KOA campground. From what she's heard its still actually there but was flooded out. She also had a storage unit in Bay St. Louis. Seems to have gone through the same thing. I counldn't really say where the storage was. Somewhere south of 90 between the old Wal-mart and Casino Magic. She moved to Illinois about 3 months ago... lucky.

I saw some of your pictures in your other post. You did a better job of covering the damage there then some of the major networks. All they want to show is New Orleans.
