[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Introduction (Page 1 of 2)

Hi,

I wasn't aware I was to make an introduction before I made my first post. My apologizes.

I never was a gun person until I was able to fire my first one as a Boy Scout. Most recent event, I was given an opportunity to sample a M4 (well it was actually a simulated unit at Ft. Lewis), but it was enough to make me go out and see what is available out there. I had no background in what I had to search and with a relatively limited budget, I wanted to make a good choice for my first rifle, so I relied on Google and found this site.

Unfortunately it was also a bad time to get into this hobby with the panic-buy situation. Still, through this site, I was able to piece together parts and finally completed my rifle last week. It's a Noveske M4 Mid-length with a DD Omega 9.0 FF mated to a Charles Daly Lower with a LMT Fixed Rear Sight. Other than the PMAGs and MIAD and XT Panels, everything else is standard. I might go with optics later on, but I'll keep with iron sights for the time being.

I didn't know Washington would be the largest HTF (from the number of post/topics) on this site, but it seems pretty outstanding. This entire site has been a resource even though I have wade through quite a bit of material to get some answers. For that, I think the members have quite a bit to do with it and for that, thanks!

It is customary for newbies to bring beer.

I thought by saying "relatively" would give some leeway, I wasn't severely limited nor was I rich either. I don't mean to mislead.

I had no means to put $1600-1800 + $200 tax for a complete rifle, but the lower $1000 was more doable. I wanted something that would last (perhaps not have to buy twice).

don't get me wrong, it's a nice piece of heat, but I coulda probably built 2 for 1 if I had what I consider a tight budget.  Either way, enjoy it, and make sure you get that beer goin.

Have you ever made a deal with a girl that if you can sex her up anally, she gets to slide a cucumber up your ass, and after you are both walking funny you peel the cucumber, slice it up, and add it to a salad that you feed your friends later that nigh?

Yeah, uh...me neither.  You would be surprised at how many people have...

Fixt.

Don't kid yourself. Getting honest information on this site is like pulling teeth without any anesthesia. Extremely fun in the short run, but often a complete waste of your time too.

And, nevermind silly_look. He still pissed off about something that happened to him long before we met him. He explains it to us in increments with each & every post he makes. I'm pretty sure he means to be cryptic about it, but I hang on each and every word..... just in case.

I've been keeping a spiral bound journal.  Slowly I've been putting the pieces together on his "deal".

Between you & I, it may have something to do with his marriage or his fascination of not being married. We should compare notes sometime. It's vague.

Speaking totally arbitrarily, I find the lack of alcoholism to be terribly unsurvivable. Let's hope he knows what nobody here will ever mention.

You may be completely right, I might not realize it until a month or so after and I spot a much cheaper upper in stock. That seems to be the unfortunate case whenever I buy something new (as in out of my element, such as this thread ).

Thanks! Not yet but soon. I was thinking Range 15 @ Ft Lewis since that seems to be one of the few non-member ranges that possess longer distances, outdoors, let you load more than one round in a magazine and firing 1 round a sec. But if you guys know any ranges closer to the Lynnwood area that is friendly to semis, let me know.

I think I do? I believe Gladiator with Russel Crowe was the only gladiator movie I've seen and I liked it.

I think Silly_Look has some connections within the Illuminati, the Mafia or maybe knows someone who works at the Arby's in Marysville.

I'm going to have to review my notes as well.

Not a single one of you bastards is thinking outside of the box.  If you won't toss my salad, I'll bring the tossed salad to you.  I should be getting extra credit, instead your busting my balls in front of the new guy (Nice rifle by the way).

I operate on levels.  Really weird ones I will admit, but never less, levels.  Or planes.  Maybe dimensions.  Um...<scratches head>

Anyway.  I've got important stuff to do with important people at important places in important times/dimensions/planes.  I bid you adieu.

All you tough guys' notes on Silly_Look will add up to.................ZERO.  You all can't possibly understand "the system" that is Silly_Look.  Just heed his words of wisdon.
