My brother is trying to by a rifle from Wally World.

When he tried to purchase it they told him he was going to have to wait for a more extensive backgroud check.

What is the longest that they have to complete the background check before they have to release the rifle to him. I thought it was three business days. And he is on the third business day now and haven't heard back from Walmart yet on wether he can buy it or not.

If they don't hear back within 3 days, the dealer has the option to sell or not sell. Being that it's Wal*Mart, it's hard to say.

That's why he should buy the rifle from an actual firearms dealer who respects his customers.

The NICS unitl has 3 Business days to get back to the dealer. After that its up to the Dealer but they usually sell the firearm to you then.

I generally tell people not to buy from Wally world. Lots of the firearms they sell have off model numbers that really hurt their resale value, and follow on customer service is nil.

Walmart policy is to wait for a proceed before releasing the firearm, no matter how long it takes.
