| I am going to spend a few days after christmas there with my son, and we wanted to shoot a little, pistols mainly. Is there a good indoor range that would be cheap and easy for a couple of non members? Range shooting is not a common thing for us, we usually go to the farm to blast to our hearts content. Thasnks... fullclip |

Fullclip, Top Gun is not not cheap from what I hear and you will have to get used to the restrictions and time limits they put for shooting. I have never shot there - just perused their for sale items in the store. There are not many indoor ranges in Houston. The only other I know of is off Witte street/road(?) and I-10, but I think they have converted to a private club.
Outdoor is much more available and American Shooting Centers is what I would recommend. The RSOs are a little anti-social, but it is a huge range and you can shoot all the way to 600 yds. if you bring a rifle. Pistol rang is o.k., but it does sometimes get crowded, proportional with the quality of the weather. |

I have shot at Top Gun many times, but not for about six months now. They have never limited our time there, so is this a new policy? Quoted: Fullclip, Top Gun is not not cheap from what I hear and you will have to get used to the restrictions and time limits they put for shooting. |
| Top Gun is a little pricey $16.00 per person, but you get what you pay for. No time restrictions the last few times I've been. One visit I had to wait about 20mins. for an open slot. They allow NFA weapons w/ proper paperwork. Can't shoot magnum loads, factory reloads or aluminum cased ammo. The people are friendly and you can do 2-3 shot bursts and rapid fire if you feel it necessary. |

In what part of Houston will you be? Chris lives off 1960 in Spring area.... fullclip Shiloh is much closer than Top Gun then. It's off of FM1960 just East of the Mall. I remember you from the Hun Farm. When exactly are y'all gonna be around the area? I live just North of Tomball, pretty close to there. |

Looks like we will be driving down on the 24th, don't know just how long we will stay. Kind of had a change of plans since Chris didn't get off work to come home, we had to step up our plans... fullclip |

I know on their website it says "15 bucks per hour", but my friend and I have shot there many, many times for over 2 hours and never been hassled. |

I shoot the 200-300 yard weekly. Its nice because no one ever goes down there and you control the range operations yourself. Most people in Houston can't shoot for shit though and stay at 50-100. |
