Literally,we can't find anyone willing to work and show up to work regularly.

If anyone in Great Falls has a kid that is not in school that needs a job we are hurting here. Position is a tire/lube tech, some experience preferred but will train the right person. Starting pay is $9.00hr depending on experience. Paid vacation after 1yr, 401k,health insurance available after probation period.  Send me an IM if you want more info on where to apply.

Is the pay too low? McDonalds starts at almost $12/hour here.

More than likely, I was corrected that min. wage is now $8.15 and we are starting guys at $9.00. Combine shitty pay for a shitty job with 4% unemployment in Great Falls and the only people left are pretty much un-hireable for various reasons.

ETA After they complete the Tire Pressure Monitoring System training videos and pass the multiple choice test they get $1.00 bump in pay. IF they make it to the end of their probation period with no problems they get another $1.00

If they can actually DO the TPM, I'd almost be willing to pay them extra from my own pocket. I have yet to get tires done on my wife's rig and have those infernal contraptions reprogrammed properly.
I had intended to avoid getting them in my next vehicle, until I found out that they're actually a DOT requirement, now. More big gubmint garbage.....

Correct me if I am wrong but when I watched my tire guy do it, it looked pretty simple. He had a handheld device that would talk to each one and he could reprogram it. After each one it would honk the horn acknowledging the change. Didn't look hard.

It isn't hard. That's what makes it so upsetting to me that they can't figure it out. I have done it more times than I can remember - every time we got the tires changed or rotated on the wife's rig. They either did it wrong or just didn't bother to. No handheld device is necessary, either. It can be done with the vehicles' on board computer.
