Hi, folks.
Just got online today with a new WiFi provider here at lovely Camp Monteith in wonderful Kosovo.
The new system is not completely up, but as I have a thready signal at least, I thought I'd check in and let you folks know how I'm doing. I haven't read anything that's been posted in the last couple of months, as it is taking about 3 minutes to load each page, if it loads at all.
Also, I -MAY- be able to come back to STL for 2 weeks the tail end of June for leave, but have an iron in the fire for another job that may preclude that. More details on that as they develop. I should hear something on it within the next few days.
I've been pretty healthy, losing some more weight, and not being tremendously overworked, though things got a little interesting last month, with a couple of IED attacks in Pristina, one directed at the new President of Kosovo. One UNMIK (UN Mission In Kosovo) civilian cop from Nigeria had his vehicle wired, and was killed. Nothing directed at us, thank God, but... Things are pretty quiet right now, and the spring weather is just BEAUTIFUL. This would be a wonderful country, if there weren't any people in it. The mountains and hills are all green now, but are being deforested and polluted, not to mention people still finding landmines the hard way... We're not even GOING to the religious/ethnic tension, here... Kosovo's primary product seems to be garbage and filthy water.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how MODCC has grown since it was about 10 of us out at Finger Lakes... Congrats and thanks to CMMG and the core guys for making it work. And if those damned shoplifting trailer rats ever show up again, or those like them...
Feel free to drop me a line, now that my ARFCOM email is back up. The Army denied access as this site is firearms-related, believe it or not. I was offline for 40 days. I'M JONESIN', MAN!!!
So, Ken's back. Look busy.
